Set among lush vegetation above the Caribbean, Hôtel Le Rayon Vert is a small 22-room hotel with a distinctly personal scale. Morne Mazeau, rising to 613 metres, is around 2.8 miles away by road; Habitation Côte sous-le-Vent is about 5 miles away, and Bain de Souffre de Sofaïa is around 15 miles away by road. For exploring beyond the immediate bay, a car is essential if you want to make proper use of the surrounding sites.

Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet Airport is about 26 miles away by road, with a drive of around 47 minutes. The hotel offers free private parking on site, which matters here: the beaches, walks and sea excursions are spread around the coast rather than arranged in one convenient row.

The useful feature is the private terrace attached to every room. You can step outside with a drink, look over the Caribbean and let the day’s salt and logistics stay outside for a while. Glass-bottom boat trips, whale and dolphin watching, visits to the Jardin Botanique and the Parc Zoologique, and excursions towards Les Saintes, Marie-Galante, Petite Terre and La Désirade are also available in the area. You can keep it gentle with a beach visit, or make the day complicated again with a quad, buggy or canyoning outing.
