You are in Baie Sainte Anne, on the north-east coast of Praslin in the Seychelles, at the end of the Côte d'Or bay. The hotel sits directly beside Anse Gouvernement Beach, with its own private beach area and a tropical garden above the shoreline. Anse Matelot Beach is about 350 metres away, while Anse Volbert Côte d'Or Beach is roughly 300 metres away.

The surrounding sights are close enough to make a non-diving day practical rather than theoretical. Praslin Museum is about 1 mile away, Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve about 3.5 miles away, and the hotel is around 2 miles from the Baie Sainte Anne jetty. Other beaches, restaurants and bars are spread along the coast, with Côte d'Or Beach about 1 km from the hotel.

Praslin Island Airport is 12 km away. Praslin connects with Mahé by domestic flight and ferry, and the hotel can arrange transfers from the airport or jetty. The private beach does the main geographical work here; you do not need to travel to the coast to find the sea.

The rooms and suites are built for space rather than clever furniture puzzles, with sea or garden views, air conditioning, a private entrance, a seating area and a balcony or terrace. La Gigolette sits directly on the beach, where breakfast is served as a buffet outdoors; lunch and dinner are à la carte. It is also the natural place for a relaxed meal with the sea doing the background work. The breakfast buffet covers continental, full English and Irish, vegetarian and gluten-free choices.

La Feuille d'Or occupies the first floor near the bar, with a panoramic view and a more secluded dining room when an outdoor table is not the sensible choice. The hotel also runs themed buffet evenings, including seafood prepared with live cooking, barbecues and Creole evenings with local dishes, live music and Moutya dancing. Special dietary requirements can be catered for, packed lunches are available, and the chef can cook your catch if you have been fishing.

Bar Ton Francis is beside the infinity pool, serving tropical cocktails, wine, refreshments and light meals throughout the day. There is also a Lobby Bar. Room service runs from 07:30 to 22:30, with the evening dress code described as casual and elegant: polo shirts, trousers, Bermuda or knee-length shorts and sandals are acceptable for gentlemen, while beachwear stays on the beach.

Snorkelling, canoeing, sailing and fishing are available, and boat excursions can take you towards nearby islands, including La Digue.

When your legs need more than a sun lounger but less than another serious undertaking, there is a games room with billiards. The hotel can also arrange car hire and bicycle hire, giving you a practical way to explore Praslin beyond the shoreline. Land-based outings include Vallée de Mai, Fond Ferdinand, Black Pearl Farm Gallery, Praslin Museum, the Praslin Heritage Route and the Pirate Treasure Trail.
