Underwater Barcelona is situated on the Sant Sebastià beach within the Club Natació Barcelona, offering immediate access to the Mediterranean. This location allows for seamless transitions from the shore to the water, making it a practical hub for divers exploring the local coastline.

As a PADI IDC centre, the facility serves as a vital training ground for the next generation of divers. It is the only centre in the city actively prioritising eco-friendly practices and Mediterranean protection, operating as a member of Green Fins and organising regular seabed clean-ups.

The centre operates as a PADI Instructor Development Centre (IDC), meaning they are qualified to train professional-level divers, including those working towards their Divemaster and Instructor certifications. They train over 20 professionals every year, ensuring a high standard of instruction across all levels.

Teaching is structured around small groups to ensure a personalised approach and a high level of safety. For theoretical components, the centre utilises an interactive online portal, allowing you to complete your studies before heading out for practical sessions on the coast.

The course catalogue covers the entire PADI progression, starting with Open Water Diver and moving through Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver. For those looking to enter the professional ranks, the centre provides training for Divemaster and serves as an IDC for instructor candidates.

Specialised training is a core part of their curriculum. You can undertake certifications in Nitrox, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Drysuit Diving. They also offer technical and skill-based specialties such as Navigation, Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, and the use of Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPV).

Environmental and safety training is also highly developed. The centre offers courses in Coral Conservation, Shark Conservation, Marine Science, and Fish Identification, alongside essential skills like First Aid and Oxygen Provider training.

Full equipment hire is available on-site for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes all the essentials required for a comfortable dive, from regulators to exposure suits.

For those managing their own cylinders, the centre provides various filling options. They offer fills for 10-litre, 12-litre, and 15-litre cylinders. Oxygen is also available on-site for those completing their Nitrox or Oxygen Provider specialties.

The local waters are home to a variety of colourful fish that inhabit the Mediterranean reefs. These species are common throughout the year, providing a steady backdrop for recreational diving.
