Glups Diving Cambrils

Glups Diving has been a fixture of the Costa Dorada diving scene since 1998. Based in Cambrils, the centre provides access to a variety of Mediterranean environments, ranging from shallow reef flats to more complex underwater topographies.

Operations are split between shore-based dives in the Reserva Marina del Cavet and boat excursions departing from L’Hospitalet de l’Infant. This allows you to experience both the convenience of local reef diving and the biodiversity found further out on the coast.

The team, led by José, Lourdes, Pol, and Edu, operates with a focus on personalised, small-group instruction. They maintain a strict ratio of no more than two divers per guide, ensuring that whether you are a student or an experienced diver, you receive dedicated attention.

As a PADI 5 Star centre, they handle a wide spectrum of divers, from children in the Seal Team programmes to technical divers. The staff is multilingual, capable of conducting training and guided dives in Spanish, English, French, and German.

Beyond instruction, the centre is actively involved in marine conservation, organising seabed clean-ups to help protect the local ecosystem. They also serve as an authorised SUUNTO repair centre and distributor, making them a practical hub for local divers.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering the full PADI progression from Junior Open Water Diver through to Divemaster and Rescue Diver. They also offer specialised recreational courses such as PADI Wreck Diver, Deep Diver, Sidemount Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy.

For those looking to move into technical diving, the centre provides advanced TDI and PADI certifications. This includes TDI Advanced Nitrox, TDI Decompression Procedures, TDI Extended Range, and a full suite of Trimix training, including PADI TEC 40, 45, 50, and TEC TRIMIX 65. They also support rebreather training through TDI Rebreather courses.

The centre is well-equipped for both recreational and technical diving. They offer full kit hire, and for those taking courses, the rental of cylinders and weights is included in the training programme.

For technical divers, the facility supports advanced gas blending, with Nitrox and Trimix available. The centre also maintains strict disinfection protocols for all equipment to ensure hygiene and safety for every diver.

The local reefs and seagrass meadows are home to a variety of Mediterranean species. You will frequently encounter conger eels, moray eels, octopus, and scorpionfish hiding among the rocks. Other common residents include damselfish, white seabream, brown meagre, and various species of shrimp.

In the open water and around the reefs, keep an eye out for great barracuda and various types of snapper. Red starfish are also a common sight on the seabed.

Macro life enthusiasts can find plenty to observe, including various species of octopus and scorpionfish tucked into crevices. The biodiversity of the artificial reefs and natural outcrops provides a constant stream of subjects for those interested in smaller marine life.

The area is accessible year-round, with water temperatures typically ranging between 12°C and 24°C. Visibility is generally good, often reaching 12 metres or more.
