Located at the crossroads of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, Burbujas (also known as Buceo Ceuta) offers a unique diving environment. The centre's position in the Strait of Gibraltar means you are diving in a high-energy marine corridor where two different water masses meet, resulting in exceptional biodiversity.

The centre operates year-round, benefiting from the favourable climatology of Ceuta. Whether you are looking for the calmer, slightly warmer waters of the Bahía Sur or the clearer, more current-driven environments of the Bahía Norte, the location provides a versatile range of diving opportunities.

As a PADI 5 Star Resort, Burbujas brings over two decades of diving experience and more than five years of dedicated professional instruction to the table. The team is known for a professional yet family-oriented atmosphere, ensuring that both novice divers and seasoned professionals feel supported.

The centre is deeply committed to marine conservation through its involvement with the Green Diving Spain project. You can participate in active environmental initiatives, such as seabed clean-ups and species identification workshops, or enrol your children in their Junior Club to learn about marine protection.

Burbujas offers a comprehensive curriculum through PADI, ranging from the initial Discover Scuba Diving experience to professional-level certifications. You can work through the standard progression from Open Water Diver to Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and eventually Master Scuba Diver.

For those pursuing a career in diving, the centre provides training for Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Scuba Instructor (IDC), including IDC Staff Instructor and Master Instructor levels. Specialty courses are also available, covering essential skills such as Nitrox, Buoyancy, Deep Diving, Night Diving, Wreck Diving, and Dry Suit diving.

The centre is fully equipped for shore-based diving and provides a complete range of high-quality rental kit, including Cressi equipment. For those who prefer to use their own gear, there is a dedicated charging station on-site.

Onshore facilities include a training room for theory work, changing rooms, and showers. Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom times or manage nitrogen loading more effectively.

The marine life in the area is defined by the meeting of two seas. In the Bahía Norte, you can expect to encounter larger pelagic species passing through the currents, such as tuna, mackerel, and amberjack, alongside resident groupers, moray eels, and conger eels.

The reefs and rocky outcrops are draped in vibrant gorgonians, red coral, and orange coral. You will also find various species of cusk-eels and brotulas amongst the crevices, as well as moray eels and groupers stationed around the ledges.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants include a variety of sea fans and diverse coral formations that provide a rich habitat for smaller species. The biodiversity is a direct result of the nutrient-rich waters flowing through the Strait.

The diving environment is split between two bays that offer different conditions depending on the wind. Both Bahía Sur and Bahía Norte provide shelter from the prevailing winds, such as the Poniente or Levante.

In Bahía Norte, you should be prepared for continuous currents, which help maintain high visibility in the area. These currents make the site more suitable for experienced divers or those trained in drift diving.
