Located in the fishing port of Candás, Speedywater offers a direct gateway to the rugged and rewarding waters of the Cantabrian Sea. While originally established in Gijón, the centre moved to its current location to be closer to the highly regarded dive sites of Cabo Peñas, providing easier access to the region's varied underwater topography.

The centre focuses on a philosophy of environmental respect and a genuine appreciation for the local marine life. Whether you are looking to experience your first breath underwater or are working towards a professional career, the focus remains on the specific nuances of the local Cantabrian ecosystem.

As a family-run business with more than a decade of experience, Speedywater maintains a personal approach to diving. The team is dedicated to guiding students through the PADI progression, from initial discovery dives to advanced professional certifications.

Instruction is provided in Spanish, with a curriculum designed to take divers from their very first pool session through to the professional levels of Divemaster. The centre's mission is built around teaching a deep respect for the marine environment alongside technical proficiency.

Speedywater offers a comprehensive catalogue of PADI courses catering to all age groups and experience levels. For younger divers, the programme includes Bubblemaker, Seal Team, and Open Water Junior. Beginners can start with a pool-based introduction or a sea-based discovery dive, eventually progressing to the Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver certifications.

For experienced divers looking to specialise or advance, the centre provides Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Nitrox courses. They also facilitate the path to professional status through Divemaster training. Specialized training is available in areas such as Deep Diver, Night Diver, Navigation, Search and Recovery, and Buoyancy control, as well as Dry Suit diving.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit, covering everything needed for a complete dive profile. This includes the essential components for both day dives and night diving.

For those looking to extend their bottom time or manage decompression-related nitrogen loading, Nitrox is available on-site. The centre also provides oxygen for safety purposes, ensuring standard emergency protocols are met.
