Dive sites with Binibeca Diving

Isla del Aire offers a vast marine reserve with diverse habitats including reefs, fissures, and small caverns. It is an essential destination for all levels, where you can encounter significant populations of fish driven by converging currents.

The Cagaires on the north face of Isla del Aire is a stunning gallery system. It features three distinct depth levels and natural light entries that create dramatic light and shadow effects across the coral formations.

For wreck enthusiasts, the Junker 88 provides a fascinating dive at 45 metres. This recently discovered aircraft is a highlight for advanced or technical divers looking for a unique underwater site.

Cap d’en Font's cave systems, such as Catedral and Órgano, are designed for advanced divers. These networks of narrow passages, stalactites, and air chambers offer some of the best cave diving opportunities on Menorca.

Marine life around Menorca

The marine life around the Isla del Aire reserve is remarkably abundant due to its protected status. You will frequently encounter large schools of barracuda and espetones moving through the water column, alongside groupers stationed near the reef structures.

The rocky habitats and crevices are home to various moray eels and octopus, which are often found peering from holes in the rock. Large predators like great barracuda are also a regular sight for those diving the deeper sections.

For those interested in macro life, the reefs are populated by damselfish and various species of octopus. You may also spot the endemic black lizardfish (sargantana negra) in the local waters.

Diving conditions

The best time to visit for diving is during the summer months. During this season, visibility is excellent, regularly reaching 30 metres or more, and water temperatures typically range between 20°C and 27°C.
