Located in the Muscat region, Sea Oman focuses on marine tourism within the Daymaniyat Islands, a UNESCO-protected marine sanctuary. This archipelago is renowned for its exceptional biodiversity and crystal-clear waters, making it a premier destination for those looking to observe healthy coral ecosystems and diverse pelagic species.

Departing from Al Mouj Marina, the journey to the islands typically takes between 30 and 45 minutes by boat. The centre specialises in snorkeling expeditions, private boat charters, and unique overnight camping experiences on the islands, allowing you to experience the marine environment under the stars.

The team is composed of local ocean lovers and professional bilingual guides, fluent in both Arabic and English. Their approach is rooted in eco-friendly practices, ensuring that all excursions respect the delicate nature of the protected marine sanctuary.

Safety is a primary focus, with all tours conducted using licensed boats and certified guides. They provide life jackets for all guests and utilise high-quality snorkeling kit to ensure a safe and comfortable experience on the water.

The centre operates vessels capable of carrying between 1 and 20 guests, suitable for both shared group trips and private charters. For those seeking a more secluded experience, private half-day or full-day boat trips are available.

Onboard, guests are provided with water, soft drinks, and snacks. For full-day private trips, a BBQ lunch option is available. The boats are equipped with toilet facilities for convenience during the excursion.

For snorkeling excursions, the centre provides essential kit including masks, snorkels, and fins. Life jackets are also supplied as standard for all passengers.

For those opting for the overnight camping experience on the Daymaniyat Islands, the centre provides tents and sleeping bags, along with all necessary meals.

The waters around the Daymaniyat Islands are home to a diverse range of large marine animals. You can regularly encounter sea turtles (Cheloniidae), rays (Batoidea), and various species of colourful fish. The presence of reef sharks (Selachimorpha) and dolphins (Delphinidae) is a notable feature of these reefs.

During the months of July to October, there is the opportunity to see whale sharks (Rhincodon typus). The area also supports sightings of mobula rays and larger pelagics that frequent the sanctuary.

On the reef itself, the ecosystem is built upon a foundation of hard corals (Scleractinia) and soft corals (Alcyonacea). These structures provide habitat for many species, including clownfish, angelfish, and various species of butterflyfish (Chaetodon), alongside moray eels (Muraenidae).

Macro life and smaller inhabitants are abundant among the corals. You may spot scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), pufferfish (Arothron hispidus), and various species of shrimp or lobster (Homaridae). The reef also hosts diverse reef fish and shoaling fish that move in large groups through the clear water.

The best time to visit the islands is between October and May, when the weather is mild. From May to September, temperatures can exceed 40°C, which may affect comfort levels during excursions.

It is important to note that bird nesting season occurs from May to October, during which time access to the beaches on the Daymaniyat Islands is restricted to protect the local fauna.
