Radisson Blu Resort, Fujairah

With five pools, a 500-metre white-sand beach and balconies facing the ocean, this is a resort built for days that start in the water and do not need to end there.

The invitation

The Radisson Blu Resort, Fujairah is a large beach resort with 257 rooms spread across four floors. It suits you if you want your diving holiday to come with proper resort facilities: several pools, a private beach, places to eat, a spa and enough space for family members who are not joining every dive.

English and Russian are spoken by the hotel team, so practical conversations about meals, transfers and the day ahead are straightforward. The mood is that of a full-service resort rather than a small hideaway, with a reception open around the clock, a concierge and activities on land and water when the sea is not on the agenda.

You can settle into an all-inclusive stay, choose a half-board or full-board arrangement, and keep the evening simple with food, a drink or a walk along the beach. No need to invent complicated plans when the resort has already supplied several.

The point on the map

The resort sits in Dibba Al-Fujairah, in the United Arab Emirates, directly on the coast. The beach is private, sandy and around 500 metres long, with sun loungers and parasols ready for the less ambitious sort of afternoon.

Dibba Al-Fujairah town centre is about 2 miles away. The surrounding area gives you access to Khor Fakkan Beach, Al Dhait Public Beach and Umbrella Beach, while excursions can be arranged to Fujairah Fort, Fujairah Museum, Wadi Wurayah National Park, Snoopy Island and Fujairah Adventure Park.

Fujairah International Airport is about 38 miles away. That is close enough for a straightforward transfer, but not so close that aircraft become part of the view.

The rooms, and the nights

The room choice is less about finding a place to sleep than deciding how much space and separation you want around the diving day. Couples can keep things simple with an ocean-view double room, available with either a double bed or twin beds. Premium categories add air conditioning and a bath, while balconies give you somewhere to sit with a drink and look towards the water rather than at the inside of a room.

For families or groups, the larger family room and two- or three-bedroom suites change the practical side of the stay. They give several people room to spread out, and the ocean-view versions keep the coast in the picture. A junior suite or double suite makes more sense for a couple who wants extra room without taking a full multi-bedroom layout.

Across the room categories, useful post-dive details include a minibar, tea and coffee facilities, a safe, television, wardrobe, private bathroom and toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are available in several categories. Air conditioning is listed among the resort's general facilities and in the Premium rooms, which matters when warm air, salt water and a long day have all had their say.

The taste of the place

Breeze Restaurant covers breakfast, lunch and dinner with international all-day dining buffets. Breakfast is served as a buffet, with the morning service running from 07:00 to 10:30. Lunch follows from 12:30 to 15:00, and dinner from 18:30 to 22:30, so there is a reasonable window for eating around a morning boat departure or a later return.

For something more specific, Masala serves authentic Indian cuisine in the evening. Grand Bleu moves dinner onto the beach, with a more deliberate setting for a meal with your partner rather than a quick plate between activities. Café Barista handles freshly brewed coffee and serves children's ice cream during the afternoon.

Drinks are available at the Lobby Lounge, with indoor and outdoor bar areas, while the resort also lists a Grand Bleu Bar and Shack Bar. The bar service runs through the day and into the evening, with the Shack Bar opening from 10:00 until sunset. All-inclusive arrangements are available, and half-board and full-board options are also offered.

Do something, or do nothing

Five pools give you several ways to spend a non-diving morning, including an outdoor pool and a heated pool. The private beach is the more obvious alternative, with 500 metres of sand, loungers, parasols and beach towels. Snorkelling, kayaking, jet-skiing and boat excursions add movement for the days when lying still starts to feel like another form of decompression.

The spa covers massage, facials, a hammam, sauna and jacuzzi. There is also a gym and a yoga area, although nobody is going to object if your post-dive wellness plan consists of a sun lounger and a glass of something cold. Table tennis, billiards and mini-golf offer gentler competition, while karaoke is available when the evening needs a little less silence.

A kids' club, children's play area and games room make the resort workable for family trips. The concierge and tourist information service can arrange excursions, including visits to Fujairah Fort, Fujairah Museum, Wadi Wurayah National Park and Fujairah Adventure Park.

What to know before booking

Check-in runs from 15:00 and check-out is at 12:00. Early check-in and late check-out can be requested. The reception operates around the clock, and the resort has lifts, luggage storage, concierge service, a safe at reception and an on-site infirmary.

An airport transfer and shuttle services are available through the hotel. The resort also runs Dubai Mall trips twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, leaving the hotel at 08:45 and returning from Dubai Mall at 18:30. Free parking and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel are useful if you are driving or need to sort out the next day's plans without hunting for a signal.

Laundry, ironing and dry-cleaning services are available. Dogs and cats may stay with guests, with designated areas including the Grand Bleu Outdoor Restaurant, Dog Park and Dog Beach Area. A vaccination record is required, and pets must be supervised outside the room; practical, rather than decorative, rules.
