A few cafés are listed around 1.2 to 1.3 miles away, while restaurants are about 11 miles away, so the on-site restaurant matters here. Wandering off for dinner is not the casual five-minute stroll it might be at a mainland hotel.

The traditional bungalows are simply furnished, with a fan, mosquito net, seating area and generous workspace. That last detail earns its keep when you return with wet clothes, cameras and the usual collection of small objects that somehow cover every flat surface after a day by the water. A private entrance keeps the room feeling separate from the rest of the resort.

For two, the Garden Bungalow is the uncomplicated choice if the view matters less than having a practical place to sleep. Choose a sea-view bungalow when the prospect of opening the door to the bay is part of the reason for travelling this far. The Double or Twin rooms with sea views use two single beds, while the family rooms combine a king-size bed with two singles for up to four guests. That is the useful option when you are travelling with children or sharing the island with friends rather than pretending everyone enjoys sleeping in the same bed.

The rooms have fans rather than air-conditioning, together with mosquito nets, clothes racks and drying racks for clothing. Bathrooms include a shower, towels, toiletries, slippers, a hairdryer and a bidet. Wi-Fi is available in the public areas and bar lounge, rather than presented as a reason to remain glued to your phone all evening.

One restaurant handles breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a buffet breakfast to get the day moving. The kitchen focuses on seafood caught daily by local fishermen and cooked with simple techniques and minimal seasoning, allowing the natural flavour to do the work. After a morning on the water, that is a more convincing proposition than a menu trying to perform acrobatics.

There is also a bar, with Wi-Fi in the bar lounge for the practical business of checking messages, weather or tomorrow's plans. Local dishes and drinks are available, and the resort can provide children's meals and special-diet menus on request. Fresh fruit and wine or champagne are also available. The restaurant is the sensible default here: nearby dining exists, but it is measured in miles rather than in a quick wander down the road.

The beach is the main piece of equipment, and it is free of charge. Sun loungers, beach chairs and umbrellas let you settle in without turning the afternoon into an expedition, while the garden and terrace provide a change of surface when sand has found its way into places it was never invited. A spa and wellness centre offers massages, manicures, pedicures and beauty services for anyone whose shoulders have started objecting to carrying dive kit.

When you want to move rather than lie down, the resort offers kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing and windsurfing, along with snorkelling and boat excursions. Walking tours and hiking provide a land-based alternative, and billiards is available for the traditional post-dinner contest in which nobody remembers the rules until they are winning.

The resort also runs themed dinner nights. That gives couples something to do after sunset without requiring a trip back to the mainland, while the private beach and water sports keep a non-diving partner occupied during a dive-heavy stay.

Check-in starts from 14:00 and check-out runs until 12:00. Children of any age are welcome, and there is no minimum age for check-in. Extra beds can be requested, subject to the room option and availability; cots are not available. Pets are not allowed, and cash is accepted for payment.

The journey includes a mainland connection and a boat crossing. The resort can arrange a shared shuttle from Nha Trang to Bac Van Phong Port in Dam Mon, or a private car from Tuy Hoa Airport or Tuy Hoa city; a private car from Cam Ranh Airport is also available. The boat from Bac Van Phong Port to the resort takes about 15 minutes, with departures at 07:00, 09:00, 11:00, 13:30, 16:00 and 17:30. Share your expected arrival time and preferred pick-up point with the resort when arranging the transfer.

Luggage storage, a tour desk, concierge service, currency exchange and laundry are available. Public parking is nearby, and an airport shuttle and other shuttle services can be arranged through the resort. The practical point is simple: this is an island arrival, so the transfer needs organising before you set off, not improvised while standing beside your luggage.

The resort's environmental work focuses on reducing plastic waste, recycling and sorting waste, saving energy and conserving nature. These are practical housekeeping and operations measures rather than a badge-heavy sales pitch, but they matter in a place where the beach and surrounding water are the reason you have come.
