Filitheyo Dive Center

Filitheyo Dive Center serves as your gateway to the pristine underwater world of the Faafu Atoll. Situated on the eastern side of the atoll, the centre provides an exclusive experience, being the only dive centre located within this specific area. This positioning ensures you dive away from the congested routes of the more famous atolls, offering a sense of privacy and space.

The topography here is diverse, ranging from tranquil reef flats to dramatic submerged pinnacles and nutrient-rich channels. With more than 40 unique sites to choose from, you can choose between relaxing explorations or more dynamic, current-driven dives. Whether you are looking for easy reef access or high-action channel diving, the geography of Faafu provides a vast playground.

The centre is a PADI affiliated facility with a multilingual team to assist you. Instruction is handled by professional staff capable of guiding you through everything from your first bubbles to advanced specialties.

For younger divers, the centre offers the PADI Bubblemaker programme. The team focuses on safety and precision, ensuring detailed briefings for every outing. Night diving is also a standard part of the centre's offerings.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses for every skill level. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or work towards their Open Water Diver certification.

For those looking to advance, the curriculum includes Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver. Specialized training is also available through the Peak Performance Buoyancy and Enriched Air Nitrox courses.

The centre operates using a traditional Maldivian dhoni. These vessels are equipped with shaded seating and a sun deck for comfort between dives.

On board, you will find drinking water, tea, and snacks to keep you refreshed. The dhoni provides access to a wide range of sites, including the house reef and various offshore pinnacles and channels.

The centre provides a full range of professional ScubaPro rental kit, including BCDs, regulators, and fins. For navigation and monitoring, you will find Suunto Zoop Novo computers available.

Shore-based facilities include a complete range of equipment including masks, snorkels, 3mm shorty wetsuits, and torches for night dives. Nitrox is available for all certified divers.

The reefs of Faafu Atoll are vibrant, featuring a variety of hard and soft corals. You will regularly encounter reef fish, including snappers, fusiliers, and trevallies.

For those seeking larger species, the area is known for Grey reef shark (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos), Whitetip reef shark, and Blacktip reef shark. You may also spot Eagle rays, stingrays, and various species of turtles.

In the channels and around the pinnacles, you can find Barracuda, Tuna, and large schools of fish. Manta ray (Mobula alfredi) are also present in the area during seasonal periods.

The atoll is characterised by nutrient-rich currents that allow for dynamic drift diving. These currents are particularly notable in the channels and corners of the atoll.

The House Reef offers a more sheltered environment with low to moderate currents, making it suitable for various skill levels.
