Searun

Located in the West of Réunion, Searun provides access to the diverse underwater topography of this young volcanic island. The centre operates primarily from the port of Saint-Gilles, positioning you perfectly to reach the various reefs, wrecks, and steep drop-offs that define the local seabed.

Because of the tropical climate, the island offers diving opportunities throughout the entire year. You can expect to encounter a marine environment shaped by volcanic activity, offering everything from shallow reef flats to more challenging vertical walls.

The centre is led by Michael, a professional instructor holding the FFESSM Federal Monitor qualification and a State Diploma in subaquatic activities. His approach is built around a personalised, human-scale service, ensuring that whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, the instruction is tailored to your specific needs.

All training programmes are certified by FFESSM and CMAS, following the rigorous French national standards. The centre caters to a wide age range, with diving opportunities available for children from 8 years old, provided they have the necessary medical clearance.

The centre offers a comprehensive curriculum of FFESSM and CMAS certifications. For those beginning their journey, there are introductory courses in both scuba diving and freediving (Apnée).

For divers looking to progress through the technical levels, the centre provides the PE20 (Level 1), PA20, PE40, and the combined PA20+PE40 (Level 2) courses. More advanced training is available through the PA60 (Level 3) certification. Additionally, the centre offers the RIFAP qualification for those interested in underwater photography.

Searun provides a complete range of equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes full sets of scuba gear, allowing you to focus on your training or exploration without worrying about logistics.

All diving activities are covered by civil liability insurance, which is included in the service provided.

The tropical climate ensures that the island remains a viable diving destination in every season. The waters are generally warm, ranging between 23 and 28 degrees Celsius, making it comfortable for both scuba and freediving year-round.
