Sri Lanka Dive School is situated right on the beach in Trincomalee, offering a convenient and direct connection to the ocean. The centre operates with affiliations from both PADI and SSI, providing a structured environment for those looking to gain certifications or simply explore the local underwater landscape.

Trincomalee is a significant diving destination, known for its varied topography ranging from coral reefs to historic wrecks. Whether you are looking to start your training with a Try Scuba Diving session or you are an experienced diver seeking wreck or deep diving specialties, the centre provides the necessary expertise and kit to facilitate your dives.

The team is led by owner Rohitha Indika (ROY), alongside Nimna Fernando (NIM), a PADI Specialty Instructor, and Divemasters Madura Tharanga and Upeksha Indrajith. This experienced crew brings a professional approach to every outing, ensuring that safety and instruction remain the primary focus.

Communication is straightforward for international divers, as the staff are multilingual and can provide guidance in English, German, French, and Spanish. This makes the centre a practical choice for a wide range of visiting divers looking for clear communication during training or briefings.

A comprehensive curriculum is available through both PADI and SSI pathways. Beginners can start with Try Scuba Diving or the Open Water Diver course, with the Advanced Open Water Diver course available for those looking to expand their skills.

For divers pursuing professional paths, the centre offers Divemaster training and Rescue Diver courses. There are also specific specialties available to refine your technical abilities, including Nitrox, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver programmes.

Between dives, the centre offers a comfortable space on the beach where you can relax. They provide refreshments including water, coffee, tea, snacks, biscuits, bananas, and ice to help you recharge before your next descent.

The reefs are home to a diverse array of fish, including various species of Angelfish (Pomacanthidae), Clownfish (Amphiprion), and Snappers. You can often spot Moorish idols, parrotfish, and Sweetlips (Plectorhinchus) moving through the coral gardens.

Larger animals are a regular feature of the Trincomalee waters, with sightings of turtles, dolphins, and various species of Ray (Batoidea). You may also encounter Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) and large groupers (Epinephelus) patrolling the reef edges.

For those interested in macro life, the area offers plenty to see, including Octopus (Octopus vulgaris) and Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani). Small creatures like pufferfish and various reef fish inhabit the crevices, providing constant interest for observant divers.
