Zori Timeless Hotel

Zori Timeless has four private residences, each with its own pool, and sits directly beside the sea on the island of Sveti Klement. The mood is pared back and private, with pine trees around the property and the Adriatic immediately outside. It suits couples who want their own space, as well as families looking for a larger residence rather than a standard hotel room. The setting does ask you to accept island logistics in return for the sea-facing address. Hvar town is reached by boat, not by a quick taxi ride down the road.

The hotel is at Palmižana 19, Hvar, Croatia, on the island of Sveti Klement. The beach is directly in front of the property, with sand, sun loungers and parasols for the uncomplicated business of getting wet without putting on a wetsuit.

Hvar town is about ten minutes away by boat. St Stephen's Square, the Bishop's Palace, Hvar Heritage Museum and Fortica Fortress are all around 3 miles from the hotel by the mapped route, placing the old town within reach for an evening or a day away from the water. Meneghello Restaurant is about 250 feet away, while Totos is roughly 200 feet away.

The journey from Split Airport involves the road, a catamaran to Hvar town and a final ten-minute boat ride to Palmižana. The airport is about 40 miles away by the stated road route, with the transfer taking around 90 minutes before the final boat connection. It is not the shortest arrival in Croatia, but the route is part of the geography rather than a minor footnote.

The rooms are built for staying in, rather than merely dropping a bag before heading out again. Private terraces, sea, garden or inner-courtyard views, seating areas and sofas give you somewhere to sit with a coffee while the day gets going. Air conditioning, heating, soundproofing and a fan cover the less glamorous but more useful side of sleeping well when the weather has done its usual Mediterranean work.

Breakfast in your room is also available, which is useful when the day's first departure has little patience for a leisurely table.
