Amaryllis Beach Hotel

Sea air, tiled floors and a balcony or terrace: this is a straightforward beach hotel for divers who would rather spend the evening outside than in a grand lobby. The building is traditionally styled, the garden gives you somewhere to sit, and the beach is close enough that wet hair is not a logistical problem.

You will be understood in English, and the hotel team also speaks German. Families have room to spread out in the larger accommodation, while couples can keep things simpler with a double room, including an option facing the sea. The address is in Chrissi Akti, Greece, directly beside Golden Beach. The hotel sits on the seafront, with direct access to sandy beach and clear water; Drios Beach is about 0.3 miles away, while Tserdakia Beach is roughly 1.6 miles away. This is beach territory rather than an urban base.

A bus stop is a very short walk away, giving you connections around the area. Drios village is about 0.3 miles from the hotel, with restaurants and cafés also within a short walk. For a wider wander, Naoussa is around 9 miles away and Parikia, the island's main town and port, about 14 miles.

The useful choice is less about collecting room names than deciding how much space your post-dive life needs. Couples can keep to a Queen Room, a sea-view double or a Junior Suite; the sea-view option is the obvious pick if looking out towards the Aegean matters more than having extra room. For three or four guests, the family accommodation gives you more breathing space than a standard double, which is welcome when bags, clothes and the day's assorted damp objects start claiming territory.

Every room is air-conditioned and opens onto a balcony or terrace. There is a mini fridge for cold water, a TV, a safety deposit box, a wardrobe and a drying rack for clothing. A desk gives you somewhere to deal with the practical business of the next day's plans, while daily housekeeping keeps the room from becoming a small-scale expedition camp.
