English is spoken by the hotel team, as is German. That matters when you are discussing a room, arranging a transfer or trying to explain that the day’s salt belongs on your skin, not on the dinner table. The resort is in Georgioupolis, Greece, directly on the coast rather than in Rethymno itself. Georgioupolis Beach is roughly 1.8 miles from the property, so the wider coastline is available when you fancy a change of scenery.

Chania International Airport is about 30 miles away by road, taking around 50 minutes by car. Heraklion International Airport is the longer alternative, at roughly 60 miles and around 1 hour 27 minutes by car. For a cultural day out, the Archaeological Museum of Rethymno and Fortezza Castle are both about 10 miles away.

The room choice is mainly about how much space and how much sea you want. The standard double or twin rooms keep things straightforward for solo travellers or couples, with twin beds, a private balcony and the essential post-swim comforts: air conditioning, a private bathroom, free WiFi and a flat-screen television. Single rooms provide the same basic approach when you are travelling alone and would rather not pay for space you will not use.

If the view matters, the sea-view and sea-front rooms put the coast into the daily routine. You can step out onto the balcony with a coffee, check the conditions and decide whether the day calls for another swim or a slower start. The soundproof rooms are a useful detail when you want the night to stay quiet, particularly in a resort where other guests may not share your preferred bedtime.

For more room to spread out, the Deluxe Maisonette with an individual pool is the clear family or small-group option, with a king-size bed and sofa beds. Couples may prefer one of the junior suites with an individual pool, while solo guests have single-use options that keep the private-pool idea on the table. Cots and extra beds are not available, so choose the room category around the beds already provided rather than expecting to add one later.

Two restaurants give you a choice between keeping things simple and making dinner part of the evening. The Main Restaurant serves international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner in an air-conditioned indoor setting. Breakfast comes as a buffet, with continental, vegetarian and American choices, plus pastries, pancakes and fruit — useful fuel when the morning is not going to wait for a leisurely second coffee.

The A la Carte Restaurant shifts dinner onto the terrace with Mediterranean cooking and a smart-casual dress code. That is the one for an evening when you have changed out of the dive gear and want the meal to feel like an occasion without requiring a jacket. Half board is the stated arrangement, while room service runs around the clock.

For the less formal moments, there is a Pool Bar specialising in cocktails, along with a bar, snack bar and on-site coffee house. The beach also has its own bar, so the route from sunbed to something cold is mercifully uncomplicated.

The main pool gives you a second place to swim, with a pool bar close by, while the beach supplies the more obvious alternative: golden sand, sunbeds and parasols. Pool and beach towels are available. If your legs are still negotiating with gravity, Vantaris Spa offers massages and facial treatments, with a relaxation area and sauna for a slower recovery session.

There is also a fitness centre and yoga, although nobody will judge you for choosing neither. A garden, sun terrace and outdoor furniture make it easy to find a place to sit with a book, a drink or the blank expression that follows a long day in the water. Table tennis, billiards and live music or performances provide a little more structure when required.

When you want movement rather than another lounger, kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling and boat excursions are available. Bicycle hire, walking routes and cultural excursions open up the surrounding area, while horse riding is offered away from the property. Families have a kids’ club for children aged 4 to 12, a children’s pool, children’s menu, activities and babysitting.

Check-in starts from 15:00 and check-out runs until 11:00. The front desk is open around the clock, and the hotel can arrange an airport shuttle, either privately or as a shared service, for you to reserve directly with the property. Car hire is available if you want to reach Rethymno, the surrounding beaches or inland sights under your own steam.
