M Village Phu Quoc

M Village Phu Quoc is a compact resort on the coast, built for days that do not need much organising. You can start with the breakfast buffet, spend the hotter hours between the beach and the outdoor pool, then retreat into air conditioning when the island has done its work.

The resort has 28 rooms and a choice between garden-facing rooms and larger house-style accommodation. That gives you a useful choice rather than a parade of near-identical categories: keep things simple as a couple, or take more space when travelling with family. English and Vietnamese are spoken by the hotel team, so you can deal with the practicalities without resorting to semaphore.

You are in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, at Bai Truong on the island's west coast. The resort sits directly beside the sea, with Long Beach around 1,400 feet away and beach chairs, parasols and a beach bar ready for the part of the day when you have no interest in putting shoes back on.

Phu Quoc town is about 10 minutes by car, while Phu Quoc National Park is around 3.7 miles away.

Phu Quoc International Airport is about 1.1 miles away, with a drive of around 20 minutes. The resort also has an airport shuttle, which you can arrange with the hotel.

The M House is the sensible family choice, with separate single and king-size beds and enough room to avoid living entirely out of a dive bag.

Garden views and outdoor space bring a little daylight into the room choice, while the minibar is useful for keeping water close at hand. Some room categories have a private bathroom listed separately from the accommodation details, so check the selected room card carefully before booking. It is a small point, but much easier to settle before arrival than while unpacking.

The Spice House handles breakfast, lunch and dinner in an air-conditioned indoor setting. Breakfast is a buffet and forms part of the standard package, which keeps the first meal of the day straightforward when you have an early start or simply want coffee before making decisions.

The restaurant focuses on Vietnamese and local flavours, with seafood, steakhouse, Thai, Asian and international dishes also listed among the dining choices. Vegetarian options are available. It is family-friendly and casual, so you can turn up hungry rather than dressed for an awards ceremony.

There is one bar: the Beach Bar. Its speciality is cocktails, served beside the beach, which covers the essential post-dive sequence rather well: shower, food, something cold, and a chair that does not move. Room service is also available when the sensible plan is to stay put.

The main outdoor pool gives you a second place to cool off, with a view and pool or beach towels available. Sun loungers and beach chairs are set up for the traditional holiday discipline of moving as little as possible while still changing position occasionally. Direct beach access makes the same arrangement available beside the sea, with parasols for when the sun becomes less charming.

M Spa offers massages and facial treatments, while the fitness centre gives you somewhere to move without turning the afternoon into a military exercise. After a few dives, that distinction matters. You can book a treatment, stretch your legs, or simply take the afternoon off and let the air conditioning earn its keep.

For a more active day, the resort offers snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, boat excursions and equipment rental. On land, you can cycle, hike, observe wildlife or take part in cultural excursions. The listed outings include Phu Quoc Prison, pepper plantations and the southern islands, so there is enough beyond the shoreline for a day when the sea is not on the programme.

Check-in starts at 14:00 and check-out is by 12:00. You need photo identification and a payment card on arrival, and the hotel asks you to share your expected arrival time in advance. A refundable damage deposit is taken by card and returned after the accommodation has been checked.
