Located in Costa Adeje on Playa la Pinta, Blue Bottom Diving is positioned perfectly for exploring the southern coastline of Tenerife. The centre is situated just a short walk from the Puerto Colón marina, making it an ideal base for those looking to access the island's varied underwater landscapes, from sandy bays to deep volcanic walls.

As an SSI Instructor Training Centre, the school provides a high standard of education and safety. They offer daily excursions that aim to vary the sites visited, ensuring you see the different facets of the local marine environment, including wrecks, caves, and reef flats.

The team consists of professional instructors from various parts of the world, all sharing a commitment to high-quality service and personalised training. As an Instructor Training Centre, the staff are highly qualified, catering to everyone from those taking their first breaths underwater to professionals pursuing advanced certifications.

Safety is integrated into every aspect of their operation. The centre is authorised by the Government of the Canary Islands for both recreational diving and formal training, ensuring all activities meet strict regional standards.

The course catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of SSI certifications. Beginners can start with Try Scuba Diving, progressing through SSI Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver. For those looking to expand their skills, the centre offers Advanced Adventurer, Deep Diving, Navigation, and Perfect Buoyancy.

More advanced divers can pursue specialised training such as Nitrox, XR Nitrox, Wreck Diving, Sidemount, and Caverns. The centre is also equipped to train professionals, offering Divemaster, Open Water Instructor, and full instructor training programmes.

The centre's facilities cover over 200 square metres and include a dedicated classroom equipped with computers, TVs, and DVDs for theory sessions. For practical needs, there are independent changing rooms with hot showers and a terrace overlooking the sea. A specialized rinsing area is available, featuring basins specifically for dive computers and camera equipment.

For those requiring rental kit, the centre provides high-end Mares equipment, including full sets or individual components. Every rental includes a dive computer. The on-site shop is a Mares specialist, and the centre also provides a Mares Lab for technical servicing.

The marine life is diverse, ranging from large pelagics to delicate invertebrates. You will frequently encounter Green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) in the seagrass meadows and various species of Ray (Batoidea) on the sandy plains. Schools of fish, including barracuda and jack mackerels, are common sights along the volcanic walls.

For those interested in macro life, the area is rich with Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) and various species of Octopus (Octopus vulgaris). You can also find Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda), Atlantic lizardfish (Synodus saurus), and Spiny spider crab (Maja squinado) tucked into the reef structures.

The rocky habitats and caves are home to a wide array of crustaceans and smaller creatures, including Cleaner shrimp (Lysmata), Spiny lobster, and various types of shrimp and crabs. Anemones and colorful sponges provide a vibrant backdrop for observing much of the local fauna.

The diving environment in Tenerife is characterised by volcanic formations that can create varied underwater topography. While many sites are easy to access, some locations like La Caleta, Cueva Neptuno, Cueva del Palmar, El Faro, and El Meridian can experience moderate currents.

Visibility is generally good, often reaching up to 35 metres, though it can fluctuate depending on the site and local conditions.
