Blue Bay Dive

Located in Piscadera on the island of Curaçao, Blue Bay Dive sits directly on the beach of the Blue Bay Resort. This convenient location allows for easy access to the island's diverse marine environments, ranging from shallow reef flats to deeper walls.

As a PADI 5-Star IDC, the centre is a hub for both recreational exploration and professional development. Whether you are looking to take your first breath underwater or are working towards your Divemaster or Instructor rating, the facility is equipped to handle every stage of a diver's progression.

The team consists of 13 instructors, providing a high level of expertise for a wide variety of specialties and certification levels. This large staff ensures that training and guided dives are handled with professional care across all experience levels.

Communication is seamless for international visitors, as the team is multilingual. They speak English, Dutch, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Papiamentu, ensuring that technical details and safety briefings are clearly understood.

Environmental stewardship is a core part of the centre's identity. They actively participate in monthly Dive Against Debris® reef cleanups and promote sustainable practices, such as the use of reef-safe sunscreens and the reduction of single-use plastics.

The training programme is extensive, covering the entire PADI spectrum. Beginners can start with the Discover Scuba Dive or the PADI Scuba Diver course, eventually progressing through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

For those looking to specialise, the centre offers several PADI specialties, including Deep Diver, Night Diver, and Wreck Diver. They also provide Peak Performance Buoyancy and Fish ID courses to refine your skills.

Professional candidates will find a dedicated path here, with courses ranging from Rescue Diver and Divemaster to the Instructor Development Course (IDC). The centre is also an OCEAN REEF Accredited Instructor Course (AIC) provider and offers EFR Instructor training.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit for divers who prefer not to carry their own equipment. This includes wetsuits, fins, and masks, allowing you to arrive at the dive site with everything you need.

For those looking to extend their bottom time or manage decompression limits, Nitrox is available on-site. The facility is well-equipped to support both recreational and more advanced diving requirements.

The reef is a colourful landscape dominated by staghorn corals and various fan corals. You will find a high density of life amongst these structures, including schools of trevallies and great barracuda.

Large pelagics and reef residents are frequently spotted, including reef sharks and sea turtles. Schools of fish move through the water columns, adding movement to the vibrant coral scenery.

For those interested in macro life, the crevices and reef flats host octopus and various species of eels. The biodiversity of the reef ensures there is always something to observe on the seabed.
