Central Dive Curacao

Located in the heart of Curaçao, Central Dive Curaçao serves as a central hub for divers looking to explore the island's diverse marine environments. The centre's position in Julianadorp allows for efficient travel, with most dive sites reachable within 50 minutes by car.

Established in 2017, the centre operates with a focus on individualised service. Whether you are looking for a structured course or spontaneous guided dives, the setup is designed to let you dive at your own rhythm while maintaining high safety standards.

The team is comprised of four experienced instructors—Marcel, Dunja, Markus, and Ariane—who are qualified to teach both SSI and PADI programmes. They provide instruction in English, French, and German, making the centre accessible to a wide range of international divers.

Safety and attention to detail are central to their operations. Guided dives are kept to a maximum of six divers per guide, ensuring that every member of the buddy pair receives the necessary support. For those looking to advance their skills, the centre offers everything from beginner programmes to Divemaster training.

As an SSI affiliated centre, the curriculum covers the entire spectrum of diver development. Beginners can start with Try Scuba Diving or the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to progress can enrol in the Advanced Adventurer or the Stress and Rescue course.

For more specialised skills, the centre offers a wide array of SSI specialties including Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Advanced Wreck Diver, and Navigation. They also provide technical and skill-based training such as Perfect Buoyancy, Waves, Tides & Currents, and the React Right course.

Beyond standard certification, there is a strong emphasis on marine science and ecology. You can take specialised courses in Marine Ecology, Sea Turtle Ecology, Fish Identification, Coral Identification, Manta and Ray Ecology, Marine Mammals, and Shark Ecology, as well as the SSI Science of Diving programme.

The centre is well-equipped for both local divers and those travelling light. They offer a full range of high-quality rental kit from SEAC and TUSA, including regulators, wetsuits, and fins.

A dedicated dry room is available for storing your personal equipment between dives. For those opting for guided trips, the centre provides 10-litre or 12-litre aluminium cylinders (200 bar) and weights, and they offer Nitrox for certified divers.

The reefs around Curaçao are vibrant, characterised by a mix of hard and soft corals, including large brain corals. You will frequently encounter various species of reef fish such as angelfish, tangs, parrotfish, and cowfish.

In the crevices and among the coral structures, look for green moray eels and spotted moray eels. Anemones and sea urchins are also common features of the reef landscape.

For those interested in marine ecology, the area supports a wide range of life including various species of sharks, rays, and sea turtles.

Curaçao is situated outside the hurricane belt, making it a reliable destination for diving throughout the year. The local waters remain warm, typically ranging between 26°C and 29°C.

While many sites are accessible via shore entry or short boat trips, divers should be prepared for various underwater conditions depending on the specific site and day.
