Scuba Do Curaçao is a PADI 5 Star Eco Dive Resort situated directly on the beach at the Chogogo Dive & Beach Resort in Jan Thiel. This prime location provides immediate access to the vibrant reef systems of Jan Thiel Bay, making it an ideal base for both shore divers and those looking to head out by boat.

The centre is deeply committed to the local marine environment, working alongside foundations like BRANCH coral and ReAct to maintain the health of the reefs. This focus on conservation is integrated into their teaching, ensuring that every diver understands the importance of buoyancy control and reef protection.

For those looking to advance their skills, the centre provides PADI Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver Specialty, Wreck Diver Specialty, and Drift Diver Specialty courses. They also offer specialised training such as the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy, Night Diver Specialty, and the Lionfish Hunter Specialty. Professional divers can work towards their Divemaster certification, and the centre provides Emergency First Responder training as well.

For excursions to more remote locations, the centre organises trips to the eastern side of the island. These boat-based dives, such as the weekly trips to Eastpoint, allow you to reach isolated sites that are inaccessible from the shore.

When visiting Eastpoint, you will travel on the Kamino, a custom-built motor catamaran designed for comfort and efficiency. These trips often include surface intervals in the Fuik Bay, where lunch and drinks are provided during the break between dives.

The reefs around Jan Thiel and the wider island are teeming with life, from colourful reef fish and snappers to large barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda). You will frequently encounter various species of angelfish (Pomacanthidae), parrotfish (Calotomus), and pufferfish (Arothron hispidus) amongst the coral structures.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants are abundant in the crevices and seagrass beds. Keep an eye out for octopus (Octopus vulgaris), moray eels (Muraenidae), crabs, and shrimp, as well as boxfish (Ostraciidae) and various species of sea urchins.

The fixed life provides a stunning backdrop to every dive, with extensive colonies of hard corals, soft corals, and gorgonians. Large sea anemones (Actiniaria) and various sponges (Porifera) add texture and colour to the walls and reef flats, providing habitats for many of the island's smaller creatures.

Many of the local sites are accessible directly from the beach, though some entries, such as at Director's Bay, involve walking over coral debris where sturdy footwear is recommended. Some sites like La Palapa may require navigating slightly more open water depending on the swell.

Drift diving is a common experience at certain sites, such as the combined Director's Bay to Tugboat route. These dives depend on the current and require good air consumption, as they can become quite long depending on the water movement.
