Oceanika Diving Club

Oceanika Diving Club is located on Eden Island, Mahé, providing a base for exploring the diverse marine environments of the Seychelles. Established in 2025, the club operates with a distinct environmental focus, acting as a direct extension of the Oceanika NGO. This connection means your diving activities contribute to the protection of local coral reefs and the recovery of abandoned drifting fish aggregation devices (FADs).

The team consists of qualified PADI and CMAS instructors who manage dives for all experience levels. They provide professional supervision for small groups, ensuring a safe and controlled environment for both recreational and more specialised diving.

Beyond standard recreational courses, the centre offers specialised scientific diving training. This is ideal for those looking to engage more deeply with marine biology and reef conservation efforts in the Indian Ocean.

The centre is a PADI affiliated club offering a comprehensive range of training. For those new to the water, they provide Intro Dives and the Open Water Diver course. For those looking to advance their skills, they offer all PADI courses for all levels.

They also host specialised scientific diving programmes, catering to those interested in the ecological side of the marine environment.

The club operates a new, comfortable boat designed to reach the various dive sites around Mahé. The vessel is equipped with a glass bottom, allowing you to observe the marine life even before you enter the water.

During the trips, fresh fruit is provided on board to keep you energised between dives.

Oceanika provides a full range of high-end diving kit for hire, ensuring you have access to reliable and modern equipment for your dives. This includes everything from regulators and BCDs to wetsuits and fins.

All equipment is new and certified, maintaining a high standard of safety for every diver.

The reefs are vibrant with life, featuring a wide array of coral species and healthy reef structures. You will regularly encounter colourful reef fish, including yellow snappers, blue-striped snappers, and various species of snapper (Lutjanus).

Larger pelagic visitors and reef residents include turtles, Eagle ray (Aetobatus), and various types of sharks, including Grey reef shark and Nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum). You may also spot stingrays, leopard rays, and Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus) patrolling the sandy patches.

For those interested in macro life, the area hosts nudibranchs, octopus (Octopus vulgaris), and various scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae). Look closely for pufferfish (Arothron hispidus), porcupinefish (Diodon), and various species of moray eel, such as pepper moray eels or snowflake moray eels.

Whale shark (Rhincodon typus) sightings are possible seasonally, providing a major highlight for divers in the region.

The dive sites around the marine park and Eden Island are known for calm, protected waters, making them suitable for those who prefer minimal swell. Many of the lagoon sites experience little to no current, providing an easy environment for shallow exploration.
