Cali Mykonos

Cali Mykonos is a beachfront resort in Kalafatis for divers who like their sea time to continue after the kit is packed away. English is spoken by the hotel team, alongside Greek, so you can deal with the useful things without resorting to underwater hand signals at reception.

The mood is built around the shore: a private beach area, outdoor spaces, a sea-facing pool and a beach bar. You can choose a quiet corner with a book, or stay close to the water and let the Aegean do the evening entertainment. It is a polished base for couples, while the larger villas make room for families or a group of friends who would rather share a proper address than several unrelated bedrooms.

You are in Kalafatis, on the south-eastern side of Mykonos, directly on the seafront. Kalafatis Beach is only about 0.1 miles away, and the resort also has direct access to a golden sandy beach with loungers, parasols and a beach bar. Agia Anna Beach is roughly 0.3 miles away; Loulos Beach is about 1 mile away, while Kalo Livadi and Lia are around 1 mile and 2 miles away respectively.

For a change of scenery, Aquarius restaurant is about 0.1 miles away and Solymar around 1 mile away. The historic Castle of Gyzi is roughly 3 miles from the resort. Mykonos Town’s windmills, Little Venice, the Archaeological Museum and Fabrica Square are all about 5 miles away, so the island’s better-known sights are within reach when you want something more substantial than another length of pool.

Mykonos Airport is about 5 miles away by road. The setting is coastal rather than town-centre based, which suits a stay organised around the sea; a car or arranged transfer is useful when you want to explore further.

The accommodation ranges from suites for two to substantial villas for larger groups. For a couple, a terrace suite keeps the arrangement straightforward, while the pool suites add a private swimming option and, in some categories, a sea view. The Premium Pool Suite and Junior Suite are the practical step-up for three guests, with the latter offering a terrace rather than a private pool.

If your dive party travels with family or friends, the villas change the shape of the stay. The Two Bedroom Villa sleeps up to five, the Grand Two Bedroom Villa up to six, and the Three- and Four-Bedroom Calliope villas extend that arrangement to larger groups, with several bathrooms to reduce the morning queue. The Grand One Bedroom Villa works for up to four guests when you want more room without taking a multi-bedroom house.

Bedrooms have air conditioning, soundproofing, private bathrooms and balconies with sea views in the accommodation description. A minibar is useful for cold water after a hot, salty day, while the coffee machine and kettle cover the first drink before breakfast. Daily housekeeping, bathrobes, slippers and towels keep the practical end of the stay tidy; a private entrance is available in the accommodation facilities.

Breakfast is served as a buffet, with an American-style selection that includes local specialities, fresh pastries and vegetarian options. That gives you something more useful than a heroic description of breakfast: coffee, food and a chance to get properly fuelled before the day starts.

There are two restaurants, with Nammos providing the named dining option. Set on the beach, it serves Mediterranean food for lunch and dinner, including fresh seafood, and keeps the dress code casual. You can sit close to the Aegean rather than treating dinner as a formal expedition back indoors.

For the interval between swimming, sun and supper, the beach bar serves signature cocktails and light bites. The main pool also has a swim-up bar, so you can order without climbing out and dripping across half the resort. Wine and champagne, fruit, a coffee house and special-diet menus on request are also part of the food and drink offering.

The main outdoor pool is the obvious post-dive recovery tool, with a swim-up bar and space for a slow afternoon rather than a timed sporting event. The private beach area adds golden sand, loungers, parasols and direct sea access. If your idea of an activity is moving from the pool to the beach and back again, the layout is on your side.

The spa offers massages and facial treatments, including couples’ massage, while the fitness centre and yoga sessions provide a more deliberate way to loosen shoulders that have spent too long carrying dive kit. Yoga takes place with views over the Aegean, which is a sensible backdrop for remembering that breathing can be useful on land as well.

Water sports available at the resort include snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, jet skiing, fishing and boat excursions. There is also cycling, and the hotel can arrange walking tours, local-culture tours and themed dinner nights. Babysitting and children’s meals make the larger villas more workable for family groups.

An airport shuttle is available from Mykonos Airport, either as a private transfer or a shared service depending on the arrangement made with the hotel. Car hire is also available. Private parking is on site, and the hotel has a 24-hour front desk, concierge service, luggage storage and private check-in and check-out.

Check-in runs from 14:00 to midnight, and check-out from midnight to 11:00. You will need photo identification and a credit card on arrival, and the hotel asks you to provide your expected arrival time. Cash is not accepted; Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. Laundry and dry-cleaning services are available, as are a safe at reception, lockers and room service. Pets are allowed on request. Children of all ages are welcome, although guests aged 13 and over are charged as adults; cots are not available, while extra beds can be requested subject to the accommodation category and availability.
