Gidive Center Palamós

Located in the Port Esportiu Marina Palamós, Gidive Center Palamós sits right on the water's edge in the Costa Brava. The centre has been established as a key hub for both recreational and technical diving in the region, providing easy access to the diverse underwater topography of the Mediterranean coast.

The centre is a PADI 5 Star IDC and TecRec facility, meaning it is equipped to handle everything from initial Open Water Diver certifications to advanced technical training. Whether you are looking to start your diving journey or move into complex gas blending and Trimix diving, the infrastructure is designed to support high-level training.

The team consists of 5 qualified instructors who focus on small group training to ensure personalized attention. This approach is central to their teaching philosophy, allowing for a controlled environment whether you are working on buoyancy skills or technical decompression procedures.

The centre is also an official PADI Freediver centre, catering to those looking to master breath-hold diving. With a focus on environmental respect and professional standards, the instructors are trained to guide divers through a wide range of disciplines, from recreational exploration to professional instructor development.

The course catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with PADI Bubblemaker or Discover Scuba Diving, progressing through Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water, and Rescue Diver. The centre also offers specialised training such as the PADI Deep Diver Specialty and the PADI Master Scuba Diver programme.

For technical divers, the centre is a dedicated TecRec provider. You can undertake specific training through the PADI Tec series, including Tec 40, Tec 45, and Tec 50, with options for Trimix training at various depths. For those who prefer not to carry their own equipment, a full range of Aqualung rental kit is available, which is regularly serviced and renewed.

The underwater landscape is rich with life, particularly around the rocky structures and submerged mountains. You can find various species including Grouper (Epinephelus), Moray eel (Muraenidae), and Spiny lobster (Palinuridae) inhabiting the crevices and ledges.

For those interested in macro life, the area offers plenty of interest. Keep an eye out for Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), various sea slugs, and octopuses tucked away in the reef. Cusk-eels and Lobsters (Homaridae) are also frequently encountered in the rocky terrain.

The scenery is defined by a variety of fixed life, including Sea fan (Gorgoniidae) and other corals that add colour to the Mediterranean seabed. These organisms provide a vital habitat for the local fish populations and crustaceans.
