Stollis Divebase has been a fixture of the Costa Brava diving scene since 1971. Located in the authentic fishing village of Tamariu, the centre provides a professional yet family-oriented atmosphere for divers looking to explore the Mediterranean.

Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or advance your skills in deep diving or navigation, the centre's long history in the region ensures a grounded, experienced approach to every outing. The location is easily accessible, situated less than 30 miles from Girona Airport and roughly two hours from Barcelona.

The centre operates with a multi-agency approach, providing training through PADI, SSI, and IAC. This allows for flexibility in how you choose to certify your skills. The team is experienced in handling a wide demographic, offering specialised programmes for children as well as adult divers.

Instruction is available in English, French, German, and Spanish, ensuring clear communication for international divers. Beyond standard scuba training, the centre also incorporates marine biology into their curriculum, providing a deeper understanding of the ecosystems you will be visiting.

The training programme is extensive, covering every level of diver development. Beginners can start with the Discover Scuba Dive programme or progress through the various entry-level courses including Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, and Junior Open Water Diver through the IAC, SSI, and PADI systems.

For those looking to advance, the centre offers Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver, and specialized courses such as Navigation, Drift-Diver, and Perfect Buoyancy. They also provide essential safety and professional training, including Rescue Diver, Stress & Rescue, and Emergency Oxygen Provider. Specialty training in underwater photography and night diving is also available.

The Gabriela is the centre's dedicated vessel for local excursions. It provides access to the various canyons and walls surrounding the Tamariu area, with many sites being only a 10-minute boat ride away. The boat is equipped with a freshwater shower on board for rinsing off after your dives.

The centre provides full rental kit for divers who do not wish to carry their own equipment. This includes wetsuits, fins, and masks, as well as full sets for those needing a complete rig. For night dives, torches are available for hire.

Nitrox is available on-site for those looking to extend their no-decompression limits. The facility is set up to support a wide range of training and exploration dives, ensuring all necessary gases are ready for your sessions.

The marine life here is defined by the rich gorgonian forests that drape over the underwater walls and canyons. You will regularly see sea fans and various species of gorgonians providing a vibrant backdrop to the rocky terrain. Large fish, moray eels, and conger eels are frequently found sheltering within the crevices and rock formations.

In the seagrass meadows and sandy areas near the house reef, the macro life is particularly rewarding. Keep an eye out for seahorses, octopus, nudibranchs, and spiny lobsters. These smaller inhabitants thrive in the protected habitats of the reef flats and rocky outcrops.

During your dives, you may also encounter sardines and, depending on the season, the occasional mola mola.

The area offers a variety of environments, from sheltered bays to more exposed walls. Some sites, such as Montiell or Cala de Aigua Xelida, are specifically noted for being protected from currents and waves, making them suitable for various experience levels. Other locations may present more varied conditions depending on the swell.
