Triton Diving Llafranc

Located in the picturesque village of Llafranc on the Costa Brava, Triton Diving has been a fixture of the local diving community since 1979. The centre is positioned only 50 metres from the beach and 100 metres from the port, making it easy to access for those staying in the area.

As a family-operated business, the centre focuses on a deep connection to the Mediterranean environment. They actively participate in marine conservation through initiatives like the Regorgonia’t gorgonian reforesting project and host Triton Talks to raise environmental awareness among the diving community.

The team is composed of 11 instructors, ensuring a professional level of support for all divers. They are an SSI affiliated centre, providing a structured pathway for anyone looking to progress from their first breaths underwater to professional levels.

Communication is straightforward for international divers, as the team speaks Spanish, Catalan, English, Dutch, and UK English. This multilingual support helps ensure that safety briefings and training instructions are clearly understood by everyone in the group.

Triton Diving offers a complete range of SSI training programmes. Beginners can start with Scuba Diver or the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to refine their skills can enrol in courses such as Perfect Buoyancy, Navigation, or Deep Diving.

Advanced divers and those pursuing professional paths can take advantage of the Divemaster programme, Advanced Specialty Diver tracks, and specialty certifications like Wreck Diving, Dry Suit Diving, or Night & Limited Visibility. The centre also offers the Diver Stress & Rescue course and React Right training to enhance safety skills.

The centre operates two distinct vessels to suit different diving needs. La Tritona is a 10-metre boat designed for comfort and capacity, able to carry up to 26 divers. It is equipped with a diving ladder, GPS, a bottle rack, and essential safety gear including an oxygen kit, first aid kit, and a sonde.

For more rapid transit to further sites, the centre uses La Boomerang, a 7.5-metre semi-rigid vessel powered by a 250hp engine. This boat carries up to 12 divers and is also fully equipped with a diving ladder, GPS, oxygen, first aid kit, and bottle rack.

The shore-based facilities are designed for diver comfort, featuring changing rooms with both hot and cold showers, a relaxation area, and a dedicated equipment rinsing zone with a cold water shower. For those bringing their own kit, the centre provides a convenient area for desalination.

On the technical side, the centre runs a certified filling station equipped with two Bauer compressors. They offer a variety of cylinder sizes, including 6, 10, 12, and 15-litre options, all fitted with double DIN/INT valves. Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time.

Full kit hire is available for those who do not wish to carry their own equipment. The rental selection includes 6mm wetsuits, regulators, Aqualung Wave BCDs, masks, fins, and boots.

The best time to experience the diving in this region is from April to November. During these months, the Mediterranean offers the most consistent conditions for exploration.

Divers should be aware that while many sites are accessible to all levels, certain locations like Boreas, Canons Tamariu, and Furió Fitó are designated for advanced divers due to depth or environmental factors.
