Diversub

Diversub is situated in the coastal area of Cala Gogo, within the Ses Torretes section of Sant Antoni de Calonge. The centre is positioned directly on the seafront within the Camping Gogo facilities, offering an immediate connection to the Mediterranean.

Since its establishment in 2021, the centre has focused on providing a personalised approach to diving. The setting is designed to be calm and professional, allowing for clear briefings and a relaxed atmosphere before you head out to the water.

The centre operates with a focus on small, manageable groups to ensure safety and individualised instruction. For Discovery Scuba Diving, groups are limited to two people, while standard courses are kept to a maximum of four divers per guide.

Instruction is handled through face-to-face theory sessions, ensuring that every student understands the fundamentals before entering the water. This hands-on approach is maintained throughout their training programmes, where real dives typically last around 40 minutes.

The centre offers a variety of training pathways, starting with the Discovery Scuba Diving programme for those new to the underwater world. This is designed to introduce you to the sensations of breathing and buoyancy in a controlled environment.

For those looking to progress through formal certifications, the centre provides the necessary instruction and equipment to move through the standard diving levels. The focus remains on safe, methodical teaching, with the option to resume courses at a later date in the event of illness or exam failure.

Diversub provides a full range of rental kit for those not bringing their own. The equipment is described as premium quality, with a strict regime of cleaning and servicing performed before every use. This includes the availability of BCDs with integrated weight systems for improved comfort and buoyancy control.

For those completing training courses, dive computers are utilised to help you monitor your depth and bottom time accurately. The centre's location allows for easy access to the water, making the transition from the briefing area to the dive site straightforward.

The rocky formations and walls in this area are defined by their vibrant fixed life. You will find spectacular gorgonians covering the vertical faces, particularly at sites like Ullastres, which create a rich habitat for many species.

Macro life is a highlight for many divers in this region. The Roca Roja site is specifically noted for the presence of various nudibranchs that inhabit the rocky structures.

The channels and coves, such as those around the Illes Formigues, support a high diversity of aquatic life. These underwater passages act as corridors for various species moving through the Mediterranean currents.

The diving in this area involves a variety of topographies, from shallow coves like La Mar Menuda to deeper offshore walls and wrecks. Navigation can be more technical in the channel systems of Llosa de Palamós, where divers must manage their headings through the labyrinth of rock.
