Sandy Beach Dive Academy

Sandy Beach Dive Academy is situated in Al Aqah, within the Fujairah emirate of the United Arab Emirates. The centre is strategically positioned directly in front of Snoopy Island, one of the region's most significant diving locations due to its complex reef structures and high biodiversity.

Whether you are looking to start your training or expand your technical repertoire, the academy provides access to a variety of underwater environments. The local waters around Fujairah are known for a diverse mix of natural reef systems, sunken wrecks, and artificial reefs that attract divers from all skill levels.

As a PADI-affiliated academy, the centre manages a comprehensive curriculum designed to take divers from their first breath underwater through to advanced specialty training. The instruction covers everything from beginner levels to Rescue Diver and various technical specialties.

The academy operates seven days a week, providing structured morning and afternoon trips. For those undertaking courses, the centre maintains clear policies regarding rescheduling and course validity to ensure training is completed effectively.

The training programme is built on the PADI system and covers the full spectrum of diver development. Beginners can start with the Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses, while those looking to progress can move through the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver levels.

For more experienced divers, the academy offers Rescue Diver training and several specialised PADI specialties. These include Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy, as well as Enriched Air Nitrox. The curriculum also includes Emergency First Responder training and specialised courses like Search & Recovery and Underwater Naturalist.

The centre operates two boat trips every day, with each trip typically consisting of two dives. You can choose between morning sessions or afternoon sessions depending on your schedule.

For those who prefer to travel light, the centre offers options to provide only cylinders, weights, and BCDs, or they can provide a full equipment hire service for the duration of the trip. Nitrox is available for divers using Enriched Air.

The academy provides full equipment hire for divers who do not wish to carry their own kit. This includes all the necessary components for a complete dive setup.

If you prefer to use your own equipment, the centre can provide cylinders and weights to supplement your gear. Nitrox is available on-site for those looking to extend their bottom time or manage nitrogen loading.

The reefs around Al Aqah are home to a diverse array of pelagic and reef species. You can regularly encounter blacktip sharks, stingrays, and various species of reef fish patrolling the water column.

Macro life is abundant for those who take the time to look closely at the reef. The area is a great place to spot cuttlefish, frogfish, seahorses, and various nudibranchs, alongside crabs, shrimp, and lobsters.

Larger residents of the area include turtles and various species of reef fish that inhabit the coral structures. You may also encounter more elusive creatures like stingrays and various crustaceans among the reef crevices.
