This is a useful base if your holiday needs more than dives alone. You can spend the day on the water, return to air-conditioned accommodation, eat on site and settle into an evening that does not require another drive. The atmosphere centres on personal service, outdoor space and a private setting rather than a busy resort strip.

Couples have a clear reason to look here, while family rooms and larger chalets make the layout workable for groups as well. The rainforest setting does mean that the resort feels tied to its surroundings, not parked beside a town with a pool attached.

The address is in Korovou, Fiji, on the southern side of Viti Levu along the Coral Coast. You are directly beside the sea, with a golden-sand beach, sun loungers and parasols, while the resort itself sits next to tropical rainforest and a private lagoon.

Pacific Harbour is around 15 miles away by road, placing the resort between Pacific Harbour and Sigatoka rather than in an urban centre. That matters once dinner is over: the main restaurant is on site, while the listed restaurants around Pacific Harbour are roughly 15 to 16 miles away by road.

Nadi International Airport is about a two-and-a-half-hour drive, and Suva is around an hour and a half away. The location suits you if direct access to the coast and a quieter base matter more than being within walking distance of shops or a choice of restaurants.

The room choice is really about how much space and privacy you want around the diving day. A One-Bedroom Chalet makes sense for a couple who want their own living space, while the Two-Bedroom Chalet is the practical option for a family or a small group travelling together. For a solo stay, the Single Room keeps things straightforward; the ocean-view double is the one to consider when the outlook matters more than extra room.

All rooms are air-conditioned and also have ceiling fans, which gives you two ways to deal with Fiji's heat once you are back from the water. Each has a patio with views that may take in the ocean, garden or lagoon, so you can sit outside without turning the bedroom into the evening's only living space.

Rooms have a private bathroom with a shower, a wardrobe or cupboard, and the useful basics for a dive-centred routine: a refrigerator and an electric kettle. Some accommodation also includes a sofa, seating area and desk. Daily housekeeping is available, and laundry is available when salt, sweat and travel have begun to form their own ecosystem.

Meals are built around the resort's own restaurant, where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on the terrace. Breakfast is a continental buffet, with options covering vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, kosher, American and full English or Irish preferences. There is also a snack bar and packed lunches, useful when your day starts before the appetite has caught up.

Dinner is the more distinctive meal: a three-course menu using fresh local produce and Fijian cooking. Dishes include RouRou soup, wahoo in coconut cream and marinated tuna. A traditional lovo may also appear, with food wrapped in banana leaves and cooked under hot coals for a communal meal.

The bar service works around the pool and main bar areas, with cocktails, local Fijian rum, wine, local beer and other spirits. The named specialities are Mojitos with fresh mint, a Waidroka Piña Colada and rum punch. It is the sort of drinks list that understands the evening brief: sit down, order something cold and do not discuss equipment maintenance until tomorrow.

The outdoor version of doing nothing comes with a pool overlooking the ocean and tropical gardens, plus loungers, umbrellas and pool towels. The beach is directly accessible, so you can choose between a swim, a stretch of sand or a horizontal afternoon with a book. There is also a shared lounge, billiards, darts and board games when the weather or your legs call time on further exertion.

For a gentler reset, daily yoga classes are open to all experience levels, and the yoga studio remains available for individual practice during the day. Massages include full-body, couples, head, back, neck, hand and foot treatments; facials are also available, including treatments in a private massage bure by the water or in your room.

You can keep moving with kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, hiking, tennis and fishing. The tour desk can arrange village, waterfall, river and cave tours, as well as trips to Suva. Cultural activities, cooking classes, walking tours and live music add a few ways to spend an evening without turning it into another expedition.

The resort is more than two hours from Nadi by road, so an airport transfer is worth arranging rather than leaving the final leg to chance. An airport shuttle is available, and private parking is available on site without reservation. Luggage storage, currency exchange, a reception safe and concierge assistance cover the less glamorous but genuinely useful parts of a long journey.

Check-in starts at 2pm. Published check-out times differ between 10am and noon, so confirm the time attached to your booking before planning a late breakfast or a final morning by the lagoon. Early arrival and late departure can be requested.
