Blue Marlin

Blue Marlin has been a cornerstone of the Malakal Bay diving scene since it was established in 1987 by Dr Minoru Ueki. For over three decades, the centre has built a reputation for safety and reliability, operating without a serious accident in over 30 years of activity.

Now operating from the Palau Royal Resort, the centre provides a high-end base for divers looking to explore the diverse marine ecosystems of the archipelago. Whether you are looking for technical training or exploring the unique sites developed specifically by the centre, you are stepping into a well-established diving tradition.

The centre is staffed by an experienced international team capable of communicating in English, Japanese, Filipino, Romanian, and Taiwanese. This multilingual support ensures smooth communication for a wide range of divers.

As a PADI affiliated centre, they offer a high level of professional instruction. The team is qualified to take you from your very first breaths underwater through to advanced professional levels.

Blue Marlin offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses. You can begin with introductory sessions or refresh your skills before heading out to the reefs.

For those looking to advance their professional career, the centre provides training for PADI Instructor, PADI Master Scuba Diving Instructor, and PADI IDC Staff Instructor levels.

The fleet consists of 5 flat-bottom boats, which are well-suited for the local conditions. These vessels feature canvas roofing for shade and are powered by environmentally friendly Suzuki four-stroke engines.

Each boat has a capacity of between 10 and 16 divers depending on the specific vessel. On board, you will find essential safety and comfort equipment, including a VHF marine radio, a first aid kit, medical oxygen, and toilet facilities.

The centre provides a professional environment for preparing for your dives. While full kit hire is available, you will find all necessary safety equipment on board, including medical oxygen for emergencies.

The marine life in this region is diverse, with Bumphead parrotfish frequently encountered during dives. You can also observe various species of gobies and Nudibranchs throughout the area.

Beyond the larger species, the reefs host a variety of smaller life forms that make for excellent macro photography.

The dive sites are spread across the north, east, and southwest of the archipelago, offering a variety of environments for different diving preferences.
