Sindbad Dive Club

Sindbad Dive Club is situated in Aqaba, the only coastal city in Jordan and the main entry point for divers heading into the Red Sea. As part of the Sindbad Group Jordan, the centre benefits from being integrated with the Berenice Beach Club, providing a cohesive environment for your diving holiday.

The location offers direct access to the renowned coral ecosystems of the area. Whether you prefer the simplicity of shore dives or the reach of boat-based excursions, the centre is positioned to get you to the reefs efficiently.

The centre operates as a PADI affiliated facility, catering to a variety of divers including families, couples, and mixed groups. The environment is designed to maintain a sense of privacy and security for all guests.

Instruction is available in multiple languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, and Romanian, ensuring clear communication during training and briefings. The team covers the full spectrum of PADI training, from initial certifications through to professional levels.

The training programme is comprehensive, covering the entire PADI progression. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the PADI Scuba Diver course, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver.

For those looking to specialise, the centre offers several PADI specialty courses, including Wreck Diver, Night Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy. More advanced divers can pursue the PADI Rescue Diver course or work towards their Divemaster certification. The curriculum also includes essential safety training such as Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care, CPR, and AED.

The centre provides access to Nitrox for divers looking to extend their bottom time or manage nitrogen loading more effectively. This is a standard offering for those undertaking Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver training or those already certified.

The reefs around Aqaba are characterised by a high density of hard coral (Scleractinia) and soft coral (Alcyonacea), including various table corals and black coral trees. You will find a vibrant landscape of sponges (Porifera), fan corals, and colourful corals in shades of yellow and orange.

Large reef fish are a constant presence, with sightings of groupers (Epinephelus), snappers (Lutjanus), and various species of triggerfish (Balistidae). You can often observe schooling fish such as fusiliers (Caesio), batfish (Platax), and emperor fish, alongside larger pelagic visitors like jacks (Carangidae) and occasionally whale sharks.

For those interested in macro life, the crevices and reef structures host a variety of invertebrates. Look for nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), harlequin shrimps, and various species of octopus (Octopus vulgaris). Seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), and garden eels (Gorgasia) add detail to the smaller sandy patches and reef edges.

In the open water and near the reef slopes, you may encounter larger creatures such as eagle rays (Aetobatus), stingrays, and blue-spotted stingrays. Turtles, including the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), are also part of the local marine life, alongside various species of reef fish and anemonefish.
