CondoYumangi is an aparthotel in Onna for divers who prefer a proper base to a standard hotel room. You get two bedrooms, a kitchen, outdoor space and the freedom to sort out your own evening rather than queue for a buffet in damp clothes. It is a practical arrangement, with enough room to spread out after a day at sea and enough independence to keep your timetable your own.

The sea-view balcony gives the place its character, while the garden and terrace add somewhere to sit outside. Air conditioning deals with the Okinawan heat when you come back tired and salty. Free WiFi and private parking are useful rather than decorative details here: this is a self-contained stay, not a resort trying to organise every minute for you.

You are in Onna, Japan, on the coast of Okinawa. Yakatakatabaru Beach is around 0.9 miles away by car, with Nabii Beach at roughly 0.8 miles, Manza Beach at 1.2 miles and Seragaki Beach at 1.3 miles. The coastline is close, but this is not a hotel where you step straight from the entrance onto the sand; you will want transport for the beaches.

The immediate area gives you several ways to eat without turning the evening into an expedition. A shabu-shabu restaurant is about 0.6 miles away, a sea-grape restaurant around 0.7 miles, and Nakamura Soba about 1.4 miles. For a change of scenery, Uruma Shiminnomori Park is roughly 3.5 miles away, while Bios no Oka and Forest Adventure in Onna are around 6 and 7 miles away respectively.

Naha Airport is about 28 miles away by road, with the drive taking around 51 minutes. A car makes the surrounding beaches, restaurants and inland attractions much easier to reach, and free private parking is available on site.

The accommodation is centred on a two-bedroom layout, which suits a small family, two diving partners who do not wish to share a bed, or a couple who simply values having somewhere to put everything. The separate rooms make a difference after a long day: one person can turn in while the other is still sorting photos, washing clothes or making tea. The Ocean View Room also comes with a rooftop, giving you an extra outdoor place beyond the balcony.

A sea view is the feature to make the most of in the quieter parts of the day. Sit outside with a drink, watch the light change and let the room do the work of being comfortable. Air conditioning is available for the hot, humid evenings, while the private bathroom includes a bath or shower, towels, slippers, toiletries and a hairdryer.

The kitchen is properly useful, with a hob, oven, microwave, refrigerator, kettle and kitchenware. Add the washing machine and you can deal with damp clothes before they become tomorrow morning's problem. A drying rack is also available for clothing. The property is non-smoking throughout, and parties are not allowed, so the tone is better suited to a quiet night than to a late session with half the dive boat.

There is no hotel restaurant or bar to plan around in the accommodation details, so the kitchen becomes the useful centre of the evening. You can keep breakfast simple, prepare something after diving or use the refrigerator for drinks and supplies. The oven, hob, microwave and kettle give you more range than the usual token kitchenette, and the washing machine earns its keep when the day's clothing has had enough of salt water.

For meals out, a shabu-shabu restaurant is within roughly 0.6 miles and a restaurant specialising in sea grapes is about 0.7 miles away. Nakamura Soba is around 1.4 miles from the property. There is also a barbecue area outdoors, so you can choose between eating in, cooking outside or heading out by car. No compulsory dining timetable. That can be a considerable virtue when your day has been governed by tides, boats and the occasional late return.

The non-diving life here is deliberately straightforward. You have a garden, terrace, balcony and rooftop, which means several places to sit outside without having to leave the property. After a hot day, air conditioning indoors and a sea view outside cover the two obvious recovery strategies: cool down, or stare at the horizon until the legs work again.

If you want to get out, the surrounding area offers more than beaches. Uruma Shiminnomori Park is about 3.5 miles away, Bios no Oka around 6 miles, and Forest Adventure in Onna roughly 7 miles. Zakimi Castle Ruins are around 9 miles away. These are outings rather than hotel activities, but that is the point: CondoYumangi gives you a base from which to explore, then lets you return to your own kitchen and terrace instead of another organised programme.

This is a self-check-in property. Your arrival instructions are sent two days before arrival, and you need to give the property your expected arrival time in advance. Check-in runs from 15:00 to 22:00, while check-out is from 07:00 to 10:00. The evening arrival window is worth keeping in mind if your flight or road journey runs late.

Free private parking is available on site and does not require a reservation. WiFi is free throughout the property. Smoking is not allowed, and parties or events are not permitted. Pets are not allowed either, so the house rules are clear and fairly easy to remember.

Children of any age are welcome, although children aged seven and above are treated as adults for occupancy purposes. Cots and extra beds are not available, so check that the existing sleeping arrangements suit your group before booking. There is no age requirement for check-in.
