Ko Lipe Diving School

Ko Lipe Diving School has been a staple of the Koh Lipe diving community since 2012. As a PADI 5 Star IDC centre, it provides a professional foundation for those looking to progress from their first breaths underwater to a professional career in diving.

The school is ideally positioned on Walking Street, with a retail shop located on Pattaya Beach. From here, you can access the diverse underwater landscapes of the Tarutao National Marine Park, which hosts over 30 distinct dive sites for all experience levels.

The centre is managed by a highly qualified team of over 20 staff members, including a full-time PADI Course Director and a full-time marine biologist. This depth of expertise ensures that both technical training and environmental knowledge are integrated into the diving experience.

Safety and precision are supported by two internationally certified equipment technicians on site. The instructional team is international, with staff capable of conducting courses in a wide range of languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish.

One of the most significant aspects of the school is its commitment to personalised learning. By maintaining a maximum ratio of two students per instructor, the centre ensures that every diver receives focused guidance and constant supervision, helping you build confidence and refine your buoyancy and skills more effectively.

The course catalogue is extensive, covering the entire PADI progression. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Scuba Diver course, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver.

For those looking to specialise or go professional, the school offers a wide array of certifications including PADI Sidemount Diver, Deep Diver, Underwater Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Enriched Air Nitrox, Night Diver, and Drift Diver. They also provide training for Search & Recovery and Self-Reliant Diver.

For those looking to advance their technical capabilities, Enriched Air Nitrox is available on site. The facility is well-supported by certified technicians to ensure all equipment meets the necessary safety standards.

The waters of the Tarutao National Marine Park are home to a variety of larger marine life. You can expect to encounter turtles and rays during your dives around the reef structures.

For those with an interest in the smaller inhabitants of the reef, the marine environment offers plenty of macro life to discover. The presence of a full-time marine biologist on staff adds an extra layer of educational value to your underwater encounters.

The best time to dive in this region is between November and December, when the conditions are generally milder. April and May also offer warm conditions for diving.

It is important to note that the end of May marks the monsoon season, which brings heavier rains and rougher seas. Access to the island can vary by season; from November to April, boats run from Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, and Langkawi, while from May to November, the main access point is via Pak Bara Pier.
