Ari Atoll Divers

Ari Atoll Divers is situated on the local island of Omadhoo, positioned in the heart of the South Ari Atoll. This central location provides efficient access to a wide array of dive sites, ranging from shallow reef flats to deep-water pinnacles.

The centre focuses on delivering an authentic Maldivian experience by operating from a local island. This allows you to combine your diving with a stay in a B&B or a full board arrangement, immersing yourself in the local environment while exploring the surrounding marine life.

As a PADI affiliated centre, the team is equipped to handle a broad spectrum of divers. They provide instruction for beginners through to advanced levels, ensuring that those new to the water are comfortable in sheltered areas before moving on to more open sites.

For more experienced divers, the centre offers flexible scheduling, including the ability to customise dive plans for groups. They also facilitate specialised trips for freediving and snorkelling, often aimed at encountering larger pelagics such as whale sharks and mantas.

The reefs are home to a diverse range of large pelagics and reef residents. You will frequently encounter sharks, including whitetip sharks and nurse sharks, alongside eagle rays and large schools of blue stripe snapper. Napoleon wrasse and various grouper species are also common sights around the pinnacles.

For those interested in smaller inhabitants, the sites offer plenty of variety. You can find moray eels, turtles, hawkfish, and various species of gobies and garden eels living amongst the anemones.

The hard and soft coral cover provides a vibrant backdrop, with many sites featuring healthy gorgonians and various other coral formations. Large schools of trevally and barracuda often patrol the deeper sections of the reefs.

Macro enthusiasts can look for nudibranchs and other small invertebrates tucked into the reef structure, adding detail to the wider ecosystem.

The best time to visit the atoll is from May to October. During this period, the local conditions are most favourable for diving and encountering the area's signature marine life.
