The resort suits couples, honeymooners and families, with private pools in several villa categories, family accommodation and the Turtle Kids’ Club included in the Platinum Plan. You also have live entertainment, selected excursions, snorkelling equipment and non-motorised watersports within the same overall package. It is a place built for staying put rather than spending your holiday travelling between restaurants and beaches.

Your address is Huvahendhoo Island, in Dhangethi, Maldives, within South Ari Atoll. The resort is directly on the beachfront, with a private beach area, outdoor terraces, gardens and sea views woven into the layout. You do not need to leave the island to reach sand or salt water; both are part of the daily geography.

Dhangethi Beach is about 3 miles away, while Maafushivaru Maldives Beach is about 5 miles away and Vakarufalhi Maldives Beach about 6 miles away. Those are nearby points on the map, not casual walks from your villa. For arrival, Villa International Airport is about 14 miles away and Velana International Airport about 53 miles away, with the onward island transfer forming part of the journey.

The useful choice is less about collecting villa names and more about deciding how you want to meet the island each morning. A Beach Villa keeps the sea and sand close, while a Lagoon Villa suits you if the water view matters more than stepping straight onto the beach. Several over-water and beach categories add a private pool, giving you a second place to cool off when you would rather not share the horizon with anyone else.

For families, the Beach Family Villa is the practical pick, sleeping up to four with two single beds and a king-size bed. Couples have more room to play with in the Beach Suites, the Deluxe Water Villa with Private Pool or the Sunset Water Suite with Private Pool. The latter two are aimed squarely at the “we have come all this way, so let us use the space” school of travel.

Air conditioning matters when your skin has had enough sun and salt, and the villas also have a fan, minibar, coffee machine and kettle. Outdoor furniture, a patio or terrace, a seating area and a sofa give you somewhere to sit without treating the bed as a general-purpose drying and unpacking station. The Platinum Plan is the main reason to look closely at what is included here. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet-style at LilyMaa Restaurant, while Aqua and Vibes offer à la carte lunch through their restaurants and bars. There is also one access per person per week to Tamarind Restaurant Villa. Four restaurants are listed overall, alongside bars, a snack bar, a minibar and room service.

Breakfast is continental, and the all-inclusive arrangement also covers unlimited premium drinks and a replenished minibar. Special-diet menus can be requested, with children’s meals and a child-friendly buffet for family groups. Wine and champagne are part of the food-and-drink offering, so you can move from a post-dive drink to dinner without turning the evening into an expedition.

One useful distinction sits in the small print: the all-inclusive benefits do not apply to a villa-only booking. Check that the package you choose includes the Platinum Plan, particularly if the room description and the board arrangement are shown separately.

When the fins are back in the bag and you are not ready for dinner, the resort gives you several ways to keep the afternoon moving. Snorkelling equipment, selected excursions and non-motorised watersports are included in the Platinum Plan, while canoeing and windsurfing are among the activities listed on site. Fishing and some watersports have separate arrangements, so this is one area where the all-inclusive label still rewards a careful look.

On dry land, you have a tennis court, tennis equipment, aerobics, yoga, fitness classes, table tennis, billiards and darts. The fitness centre is there for anyone who genuinely wants more exercise after a day in the sea; the rest of you can simply admire it while heading towards the loungers and sun umbrellas.

The Tamara Spa offers a relaxation area, spa facilities, massages, a hammam and a sauna. Massage and some spa facilities have separate arrangements. Evening entertainment includes live music or performances, themed dinner nights, evening entertainment and a nightclub or DJ, while local-culture classes give you something with a little more substance than another round of poolside drifting. Families also have the Turtle Kids’ Club, indoor and outdoor play areas, a playground and babysitting services.

The island transfer can be arranged by speedboat, seaplane or domestic flight. You need to share your flight details with the resort at least three days before arrival so your transfer seat can be secured. Velana International Airport is about 53 miles away, while Villa International Airport is about 14 miles away; the airport name on your booking therefore matters more than the distance in a brochure.

Check-in runs from 14:00 to 16:00 and check-out from 06:30 to 12:00. You need photo identification and the card used to guarantee the booking at check-in, and the resort asks you to share your expected arrival time in advance. Cash is not accepted, so keep the appropriate card to hand rather than assuming island logistics will sort themselves out.

Children of all ages are welcome. Cots can be requested for children aged 0 to 5, and extra beds for children aged 6 to 11, subject to the accommodation selected. Guests under 18 need to check in with a parent or official guardian. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve gala supplements apply, and villa-only bookings do not include the all-inclusive benefits.
