Boutique Beach

Located on the island of Dhigurah in the South Ari Atoll, Boutique Beach is a contemporary all-inclusive dive resort situated within a protected marine area. The centre provides direct access to the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and the surrounding reef systems.

Since its establishment in 2015, the centre has focused on providing a specialised diving experience. It operates out of a boutique hotel that combines high-end accommodation with a dedicated diving operation, ensuring that the logistics of your trip are handled by a team with a deep understanding of local conditions.

The operation is managed by a team with significant local and international experience, including boat captains with over 30 years of maritime expertise. The centre is a PADI 5 Star facility, maintaining high standards of instruction and safety across all its programmes.

To ensure a personalised experience, dive groups are kept small, with a maximum of four to five divers per guide. This ratio allows for more attentive guidance when navigating currents or exploring complex sites. The team is multilingual, with staff able to communicate in English, Danish, German, Spanish, and French.

Adding to the educational aspect of the stay, a resident marine biologist conducts daily presentations. These sessions provide insight into the local ecosystem and the conservation efforts being undertaken to protect the South Ari Atoll.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of PADI training programmes. This includes the Open Water Diver course for those starting their journey, as well as various other certifications to progress through the levels.

Instruction is tailored to the individual, with the facility's PADI 5 Star status ensuring that all training meets rigorous international standards.

The Manta Mobula is a 55-foot dedicated dive vessel used for daily excursions. It is well-equipped for comfort and utility, featuring freshwater showers, toilets, and a dedicated space for underwater photography equipment.

On board, you will find snacks, water, tea, coffee, and biscuits to recharge between dives. The boat is designed to facilitate easy transitions from the vessel to the water, providing a stable platform for exploring the more than 50 dive sites accessible from Dhigurah.

The centre provides full rental kit, including wetsuits in various lengths, fins, masks, and snorkels. For those requiring specific equipment, dive lights are available for hire to facilitate night dives.

Nitrox 32% is available on site and is analysed before every dive. Cylinders are provided in 12-litre volumes, with 15-litre options available for those who require them. All cylinders are compatible with both DIN and Yoke valves. A dive computer is a mandatory requirement for all divers, though rental units are available if you do not have your own.

The South Ari Atoll is world-renowned for its large pelagics. You have the opportunity to see whale sharks and manta rays year-round. The surrounding waters are also home to various reef sharks, including whitetip reef sharks, grey reef sharks, and blacktip reef sharks, as well as nurse sharks and silvertip sharks.

During the period from May to November, an increase in plankton levels often draws even larger pelagics to the area. You will frequently encounter schools of tuna, jacks, and various species of trevally, alongside barracudas and eagle rays.

The reef architecture is supported by a rich variety of life, including large numbers of anemones, gorgonians, and colourful soft corals. You can observe various species of fish such as surgeonfish, snapper, and platax moving through the water.

For those interested in macro life, the area offers significant rewards. Look closely for nudibranchs, stonefish, octopus, and ghost pipefish among the coral structures and crevices.

Diving in this region is influenced by the seasonal monsoons. The water is generally calmer from December to April during the northeast monsoon, while the southwest monsoon from May to November can bring more swell.

Experienced captains monitor the local currents to ensure divers are deployed at the most appropriate locations. On certain sites, such as Broken Rock and Five Rocks, you should expect to encounter moderate currents.
