Diver's Paradise Dive Center

Diver's Paradise Dive Center has been a fixture of the Zakynthos diving scene since 1998. As the first PADI centre on the island, it has built a long-standing reputation for quality through its Gold Palm 5 Star Resort status and its official partnership with the International Yacht Training (IYT).

You can find the centre at two convenient locations: Laganas Beach, situated in front of the Oasis Beach Bar, and Tragaki at the Eleon Grand Resort. This dual presence allows for easy access to the diverse marine landscapes of the Ionian Sea, from sheltered bays to dramatic drop-offs.

The centre is led by Fanis Nikoloudakis, an experienced instructor with a wide range of professional credentials, including PADI IDC Staff, CMAS 3*, DAN, Medic First Aid, Emergency First Response, and IADS 3*.

With over 25 years of experience, the team is dedicated to maintaining high safety standards and professional instruction. Their expertise covers everything from initial training to advanced specialties, ensuring a structured and safe environment for all divers.

The training programme is extensive, catering to every level of diver. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the PADI Open Water Diver course, with the Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver courses following to build technical proficiency.

For those looking to advance their careers, the centre offers Divemaster and Assistant Instructor training. The curriculum also includes a wide array of specialties, such as Nitrox, Deep Dives, Wall Dives, Night Dives, and Sidemount. More specialised training is available for those interested in Cave, Cavern, Search and Recovery, and even Tech Diving.

The centre operates two boats to suit different diving preferences and group sizes. You can choose to dive from a 9m hard boat or a 6.5m RIB, both powered by 250 HP engines.

The boats have a capacity for up to 22 divers and are used for a variety of trips, including reef explorations, wall dives, and night dives. These vessels allow you to reach the island's most significant sites, from the sheltered waters of Marathonisi to the deeper structures of the outer reefs.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit, featuring high-quality brands such as Cressi, Aqualung, and Beuchat. You can find everything required for a complete dive setup, including regulators, BCDs, and wetsuits.

On-site, the centre is equipped to handle all your diving needs, with equipment that is regularly checked and maintained according to strict safety protocols. For those looking to invest in their own kit, a selection of renowned brands is also available for purchase.

The marine life in these waters is diverse, with regular sightings of Mediterranean fish, Sea bream (Sparidae), and various species of Wrasse (Labridae). You may also encounter large Groupers (Epinephelus) patrolling the reefs and various species of Snapper (Lutjanus) and Jack (Carangidae).

For those interested in macro life, the rocky crevices and seafloor are home to Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), various crabs, and Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani). You can also find Shrimp (Caridea) and Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) tucked away in the reef structure.

In the open water and along the deeper walls, look out for Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), Tuna (Thunnus), and Amberjack. The area is also a significant habitat for the Caretta caretta sea turtle and the Mediterranean monk seal.

During the winter, Octopus (Octopus vulgaris) are particularly active in their spawning habitats.

The diving environment in Zakynthos varies from calm, sheltered bays perfect for beginners to more exposed sites. While many areas remain protected, some reefs experience a light current that can be beneficial for spotting larger pelagics.
