Nero-Sport Diving Center is situated in the tranquil village of Limni Keriou, on the southeast coast of Zakynthos. As the only German-speaking dive centre on the island, it provides a familiar atmosphere for many visitors while serving a diverse international community.

The centre has been operating for over 35 years, establishing a long-standing presence in the local diving scene. From their base, you can access a vast range of underwater environments, from deep walls and rocky formations to protected marine areas.

The centre operates with a professional team and is affiliated with CMAS. They cater to a wide range of divers, from those looking for their first experience in the water to more seasoned explorers.

Families are well-catered for here, with specific programmes designed for children. To make things easier for parents, the centre provides childcare services during scheduled dive outings.

Communication is straightforward, with instruction and guidance available in both German and English. This ensures that technical details and safety briefings are clearly understood by all divers.

Nero-Sport Diving Center provides training for a variety of skill levels. This includes introductory programmes for children as well as refresher courses for divers looking to brush up on their skills before heading back into the water.

As a CMAS affiliated centre, they follow structured training standards to ensure all divers gain the necessary competencies for the local environment.

The centre operates two boats to reach the various dive sites around the island. These include the Cat Cat, a catamaran used for excursions, and a Neraki vessel.

Note that trips on the Cat Cat catamaran involve an additional supplement. The boats facilitate multiple sorties per day, allowing you to make the most of the local conditions.

The centre is a complete destination for divers, offering various accommodation options including studios, apartments, and holiday houses. An on-site restaurant, the Dive Inn, is located directly within the centre building, providing easy access to meals between dives.

Night diving is supported by the centre, allowing you to explore the local reefs after sunset.

The marine life around Zakynthos is diverse, with many species inhabiting the reefs and rocky walls. You will regularly encounter Groupers (Epinephelus), sea bream (Sparidae), and various species of Wrasse (Labridae). Large predators like Tuna (Thunnus) and Jack (Carangidae) are also part of the local ecosystem.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants are plentiful among the crevices. Keep an eye out for Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), Moray eel (Muraenidae), and various species of shrimp. Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) and crabs are often found tucked into the reef structure, while Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) can add splashes of colour to your observations.

In the protected areas of the National Marine Park, you have the opportunity to see turtles. During certain periods, these turtles are active in the bay for nesting.

More elusive residents include the Mediterranean monk seals, which may be found seeking refuge in the area. You might also spot rays or larger pelagics passing through the deeper sections of the dive sites.

September is generally the recommended month for diving in this area. While the weather is typically favourable, visiting in late October can result in colder and more humid conditions.

Conditions vary depending on whether you are diving the sheltered reefs of the National Marine Park or the more exposed northern walls.
