Mateua Dive

Located in L'Escala on the Costa Brava, Mateua Dive is a centre built by diving enthusiasts. The location provides access to a variety of Mediterranean marine environments, ranging from rocky reefs to interesting wreck sites.

The centre operates with a focus on structured learning and professional standards. Whether you are looking to complete your first Open Water Diver certification or are pursuing advanced professional credentials, the facilities are designed to support all stages of a diver's progression.

The team consists of eight experienced instructors and divemasters. They maintain a strict ratio of one guide per diver, ensuring close supervision and safety during every excursion.

Instruction is available in English, French, Spanish, and Catalan, making it accessible for a wide range of divers. The staff focuses on a professional yet family-oriented atmosphere, which is reflected in their approach to both recreational and professional training.

As an SSI centre, Mateua Dive offers a comprehensive curriculum. Beginners can start with Try Scuba or the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to progress can enrol in Advanced Open Water Diver, Nitrox, or specialty courses such as Wreck Diving, Night & Limited Visibility, and Shark Ecology.

For divers pursuing a career in the industry, the centre provides advanced training including Dive Guide, Stress & Rescue, and the Instructor Training Course. They also offer XR training for those moving into technical diving disciplines.

The centre is equipped with a modern air and Nitrox filling station, allowing you to dive with enriched air blends. A full range of rental kit is available on-site for those who do not wish to carry their own equipment.

Shore-based facilities include a dedicated training room designed to enhance the learning process, as well as comfortable showers for rinsing off after a dive. A free shuttle service is also provided to transport divers to the boarding point.
