Bb Divers

BB Divers has been a fixture of the Koh Chang diving scene since 2003, making it the island's longest-running dive operation. Originally founded by a Belgian team, the centre has grown into a professional PADI 5 Star IDC hub that serves both the Koh Chang and Koh Kood areas.

The centre operates with a strong focus on eco-responsibility, aiming to preserve the local coral reefs while providing high-quality diving adventures. Whether you are looking for a relaxed day of reef exploration or advanced technical training, the operation is structured to handle a variety of diver requirements.

As a PADI 5 Star IDC centre, the team is highly qualified, offering everything from basic Open Water Diver courses to professional Instructor Development Courses (IDC). The staff is international, with instruction available in English and German, ensuring clear communication for a global community of divers.

Beyond standard scuba instruction, the team provides specialised training in freediving—ranging from introductory sessions to Instructor level—and unique workshops such as coral propagation. This expertise makes the centre a destination for those looking to deepen their connection to the marine environment through both professional certification and conservation.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or Bubblemaker programmes, progressing through Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver. The centre also offers specialised courses such as PADI Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Sidemount.

For those pursuing a professional career, BB Divers provides Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and full IDC programmes. They also host specialised instructor training for Nitrox and EFR. For divers interested in the science of the reef, they offer dedicated coral propagation courses ranging from one-day workshops to seven-day programmes.

The centre operates three well-maintained vessels to service their dive sites. The Sky Saeng carries up to 30 people, while the BB4 has a capacity for 40 divers. For larger groups or specific requirements, they also utilise a two-deck Big Boat.

Onboard the boats, you will find facilities designed for comfort during full-day trips, including a buffet lunch, soft drinks, coffee, tea, and snacks. The vessels are equipped with shaded areas and a sun deck to relax between dives, along with rinse tanks and onboard toilets and showers. Nitrox is available for those requiring enriched air for their excursions.

The centre provides full equipment hire for divers who prefer not to travel with their own kit. This includes all the necessary components for a complete setup, allowing you to arrive at the pier with minimal luggage.

Shore-side facilities include dedicated areas for rinsing kit and preparing for your day. For those interested in underwater photography, digital cameras with SD cards can be hired to capture your dives.

The reefs around Koh Chang and Koh Kood are home to a diverse array of large pelagics and reef fish. You can regularly observe barracuda, large groupers (Epinephelus), and various species of rays and stingrays. Turtles are also a common sight across the different reef systems.

The hard and soft coral cover is extensive, with table corals and staghorn corals providing the structure for a busy ecosystem. You will find many colourful reef fish including butterflyfish, angelfish, parrotfish, and various species of fusiliers and snappers patrolling the walls and pinnacles.

For macro enthusiasts, the sites offer plenty of smaller treasures. Look closely among the crevices and rubble for nudibranchs, shrimp, lobster, and various species of moray eel. Scorpionfish and stonefish often hide on the seabed, while octopus and cuttlefish can be found amongst the rocks.

Diving in this region is most consistent from October to May during the dry season. While the centre adapts excursions to the prevailing weather and sea conditions, divers should be aware that certain sites, such as Hin Ga Daeng, can experience strong and unpredictable currents.

Visibility can vary significantly depending on the site and the time of year, typically ranging from 2 to 30 metres. The availability of sites also depends on the sea state, with the team monitoring conditions closely to ensure safe dive planning.
