Chang Diving

Chang Diving has been a fixture of the Koh Chang diving community since 2005. Located at Klong Prao Beach, the centre serves as a primary gateway to the Mu Koh Chang National Marine Park, where the island's most significant reefs and historical wrecks are situated.

The operation is designed to accommodate a wide spectrum of divers, from those completing their first Try Dive to technical divers pursuing advanced wreck and decompression certifications. Whether you are looking for shallow reef flats or deep, technical penetrations, the centre's focus remains on structured, safe, and professional diving.

The team consists of experienced instructors holding SDI, TDI, and PADI qualifications. They manage dive groups with a strict ratio, limiting them to a maximum of five divers per guide to ensure personalised attention and safety throughout the dive.

Instruction is available in English, German, and Thai. For those looking to progress through their training efficiently, the centre offers eLearning options for several courses, allowing you to complete your theory in the classroom before heading to the water.

The training programme is extensive, covering all levels of the diving continuum. Beginners can start with a Try Dive or work towards their Open Water Diver certification, with subsequent paths leading to Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver.

For those looking to move into technical or professional territory, the centre offers specialised TDI and SDI courses. This includes Nitrox Diver, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and the TDI Advanced Wreck Diver course. More advanced divers can pursue TDI Decompression Procedures, Trimix, and Full Cave training. Professional divers can also train for the Divemaster level.

The Pirm Udom Sub is a dedicated dive boat designed for comfort and operational efficiency. The vessel features a spacious deck and covered rest areas, providing a place to relax between dives.

Onboard, you will find fresh Thai lunches, water, snacks, fruit, tea, and coffee. The boat is fully equipped to support various diving profiles, with Nitrox available on demand for those requiring extended bottom times.

Chang Diving provides a full range of rental kit for divers who prefer not to carry their own equipment. This includes regulators, BCDs, and other essential components for a complete setup.

For those looking to capture their dives, GoPro cameras are available for hire. The centre also facilitates DAN diving insurance to ensure you are covered while exploring the local sites.

The reefs around Koh Chang are teeming with life, including schools of barracuda, various species of triggerfish, and parrotfish. You can regularly encounter moray eels, pufferfish, lionfish, and trumpetfish among the coral structures.

For those watching the reef walls and pinnacles, look out for blue-spotted rays, pufferfish, and various reef sharks. Green turtles are also a frequent visitor to the shallower pinnacles and reef flats.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, from colourful nudibranchs and pipefish to various species of anemones and sponges. The crevices of the reefs are also home to moray eels and various species of wrasse.

Between November and May, there is the possibility of encountering whale sharks in the area.

The best time to dive in this region is from November to April. During this period, the conditions are generally most favourable for exploring the marine park.

While currents can vary depending on the specific site, many of the reef locations like Hin Luk Bat experience relatively low current, making them suitable for a wide range of experience levels.
