Villamar Hotel

A small aparthotel in the middle of the village, with 25 units and the useful independence of a proper apartment rather than a standard hotel room. Villamar Hotel suits divers who prefer a little elbow room, a fridge for cold drinks and the freedom to sort out meals without waiting for a dining-room timetable.

The mood is practical and unforced. You have a seating area, a dining space and, in some apartments, a balcony; the sun terrace and hot tub give you somewhere to sit when the legs have had enough of the day. Free WiFi runs throughout the property, and air conditioning is there when Fuerteventura has been doing its usual warm-water routine above the surface.

You are in the centre of Morro del Jable, on Avenida de Jandía, in the Jandía area of Fuerteventura. The property is by the sea, with direct access described towards a white-sand beach, while Morro Jable Beach is around 300 metres away. That is close enough for an early swim, a walk before breakfast or a quick escape when the weather is behaving better than your knees.

The village is part of the practical appeal. Bar Eskimo, Bar Oasis and Get the Net are around 250 metres away, while Waikiki, Leos and Nomads Proper Burgers are roughly 300 metres away. Playa Las Coloradas is about 1.5 miles away, Playa del Matorral about 1 mile, and Cofete Beach about 5 miles. Fuerteventura Airport is around 49 miles away by road.

The two apartment categories give you the same basic advantage: space to spread out after a day in a wetsuit, with a separate seating area, dining table and kitchen facilities. The sea-view option is the natural choice if looking towards the water matters to you; the standard apartment keeps the same self-catering format without making the view the main event.

Both options are designed for up to three guests, so couples get room to breathe and a small group can avoid the familiar holiday ritual of stepping over bags to reach the bathroom. Each apartment has a private bathroom with a bath and bidet, plus towels, bed linen, a hairdryer and a bathrobe. Upper floors are reached by stairs only, worth bearing in mind if your luggage has developed its own gravitational field.

The kitchen includes a microwave, toaster, fridge, coffee machine, kettle and kitchenware. That means chilled water waiting when you return, coffee without leaving the building and a simple meal when a restaurant feels like one decision too many. Air conditioning, a sofa, a wardrobe or dressing room, a desk and a drying rack complete the useful rather than ornamental side of the room.

Villamar Hotel gives you the equipment to manage food yourself rather than a hotel dining programme to follow. The apartment kitchen has a dining table, microwave, toaster, fridge, coffee machine, kettle and kitchenware, so breakfast can happen when you wake up and dinner can happen when you are actually hungry. For divers, that is often a more convincing luxury than a decorative buffet.

When cooking feels like an unnecessary surface interval, the village is close at hand. Waikiki and Leos are about 300 metres away, with Nomads Proper Burgers at a similar distance; Bar Eskimo, Bar Oasis and Get the Net are also around 250 metres from the property. You can therefore move from shower to supper without turning the evening into an expedition.

There are vending machines for snacks and drinks on site. The practical formula is apartment living, with nearby bars and restaurants doing the work when you want somebody else to deal with the plates.

The hot tub, sun terrace, solarium and garden cover the straightforward version of a non-diving afternoon: sit down, warm up, cool off and repeat as required. Sun umbrellas and outdoor furniture make the terrace useful rather than merely photogenic, while the shared lounge and board games offer a quieter option when the wind has made the beach less inviting.

For something more active, the property gives access to a fitness centre, and tennis and golf are available among the land-based options. A golf course is within about 2 miles. Windsurfing and fishing are available in the surrounding area, while maritime and terrestrial excursions provide ways to see more of Fuerteventura without treating every free hour as another training session.

The beach remains the simplest plan. Morro Jable Beach is around 300 metres away, Playa del Matorral is about 1 mile away and Playa Las Coloradas about 1.5 miles, giving you a few different excuses to leave the sun terrace.

Check-in starts from 14:00, and you need to tell the property your expected arrival time. Check-out runs until 12:00, which is a civilised arrangement if your journey home does not begin at an unholy hour. Private and express check-in and check-out are available, and luggage storage is provided.

Free public parking is available nearby, with street parking and no reservation option. Car hire is available at the property, which is useful for reaching Cofete, the wider Jandía area and beaches beyond Morro del Jable. Fuerteventura Airport is around 49 miles away by road; an airport transfer service is not listed here, so you should plan the final leg accordingly.

Cash is accepted. Smoking is not allowed, parties and events are not permitted, and quiet hours run from 22:00 to 07:00. Children of all ages are welcome; cots and extra beds can be requested, with availability depending on the apartment selected. Laundry is available as an additional service, and the property does not accept pets.
