Hotel Fariones sits between tropical gardens and the Atlantic, with a direct route down to the beach and sea views from every room. The property first opened in 1966 and was renovated in 2020, so its history is part of the address without forcing you to sleep in a museum piece.

This is a hotel for divers who like their evenings organised around food, a proper drink and an easy place to recover. You can move from the water to a balcony, the pool or the spa without turning the rest of the day into another expedition.

You will be understood in English, Spanish, German and French by the hotel team. That covers the useful conversations, including the ones involving an early breakfast, a late return or a towel that has developed a life of its own.

The address is in Puerto del Carmen, Spain, on the Atlantic waterfront at C. Roque del Este, 1. The hotel has direct access to three beaches, including a small cove of golden sand, while Puerto del Carmen Beach is about 50 metres away.

Playa Chica is roughly 350 metres away on foot, or about four minutes' walk. That gives you another nearby stretch of coast when you fancy a change of scenery without committing to a taxi, a car or a heroic post-dive stroll.

Restaurants and cafés are close by, including Casa Parmigiano and Bistro Arbol at about 400 feet, while Arrecife is around 10 miles away. Lanzarote Airport is about 4 miles from the hotel, making the transfer at the start and end of the trip relatively short.

Every room looks towards the Atlantic, and the balcony or terrace gives you somewhere to sit with a coffee while your body negotiates the morning. Air conditioning, soundproofing and daily housekeeping make the practical side of recovery straightforward; a tired diver will appreciate all three rather more than another decorative cushion.

For two people, the sea-view rooms and junior suites keep the choice simple: pick the layout that suits whether you want a straightforward sleeping space or more room to spread out. The larger suites are the sensible move for a family or small group, with more living space and room to avoid the traditional holiday ritual of stepping over somebody else's bag.

The rooms include a private bathroom with a shower, toiletries, towels, slippers and a bathrobe. A coffee machine and kettle cover the first drink of the day, while room service runs around the clock when returning to the restaurant feels like an unnecessary surface interval.

Breakfast is available both as a buffet and à la carte, so you can choose between getting fuel on board efficiently or ordering something at your own pace. That distinction matters when the boat leaves early and your appetite has not yet received the memo.

The dining line-up includes Kaori Fusion Restaurant for Asian cooking, Erizo for Atlantic flavours and Bella Lucía for buffet service. La Barra Food & Drinks handles lighter dishes and cocktails, while the Chef Table offers a more focused dining format. The kitchen works with fresh ingredients from Finca de Uga and local producers, with seasonal and island-sourced produce playing a central role.

There are three named drinking spots. La Barra Cocktail & Bar runs from morning coffee to sunset drinks and serves signature cocktails; Faro Pool Bar sits by the main pool, and Pitaya Fresh Juice Bar covers the fresher end of the spectrum. A snack bar by the main pool, a coffee house and 24-hour room service give you options when a full meal is not the plan.

The main infinity pool is framed by palm trees, while the rooftop infinity pool offers panoramic views and is reserved for selected sea-view suite categories. There is also a therapeutic pool facing the Atlantic and a dynamic pool forming part of the wellness circuit. In other words, you can choose between swimming, floating and doing very little with professional commitment.

Fariones Wellness brings together a thermal circuit, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, relaxation areas and therapeutic water facilities. Treatments include massages, facials, body treatments and sensory rituals using SCENS products. It is the place for the post-dive plan that involves lying down and allowing somebody else to deal with the knots.

For more active afternoons, the Centro Deportivo Fariones is 50 metres from the hotel. You have access to its gym and directed classes, including yoga, Pilates, aquafitness, therapeutic swimming, Functional Training, Hyrox and CrossFit. The complex also has a heated 25-metre semi-Olympic pool, tennis and padel courts, outdoor jacuzzis and separate adult and children’s pools; gym access is for guests aged 16 and over. Live music and evening entertainment are available at the hotel, and the nearby beach remains the simplest activity of all.

Check-in runs from 15:00 to 23:30 and check-out from 07:00 to 12:00. You will need photo identification and a credit card at check-in, and the hotel asks you to share your expected arrival time. The minimum check-in age is 18.

Children of any age are welcome. Cots are available for children aged from 0 to 2, while extra beds are not available. The hotel also offers accessible facilities, including wheelchair access, accessible lifts, lowered bathroom sinks and toilets with grab rails.

An airport shuttle is available and can be arranged with the hotel. You also have a 24-hour reception, concierge service, luggage storage, a tour desk, car hire and room service. Wi-Fi is free in public areas. Paid parking is available, and the hotel has a lift, wake-up service and laundry-related services for the practical business of staying away from home.

The hotel holds Biosphere Certification and builds its environmental work into everyday operations rather than leaving it as a slogan on the wall. Single-use plastics are being removed, biodegradable materials and recyclable packaging are used, and LED lighting, efficient air conditioning and improved water management reduce routine consumption.

The hotel uses local produce, including ingredients from Finca de Uga, and has installed solar panels with a photovoltaic system. Recycling and composting are part of the operation, while the property also provides three charging points for electric cars.

Fariones Wellness uses natural, biodegradable cosmetics designed to avoid substances harmful to the marine environment, including products from Per Purr and G19. Staff training and collaboration with local projects round out the approach.
