Freedive Nosy Be

Located at the Hotel Beluga on Madirokely beach, Freedive Nosy Be has been operating since 2021 as the first school in the region dedicated exclusively to freediving. As the first SSI-affiliated freediving centre in Madagascar, it provides a structured environment for those looking to master the art of breath-hold diving.

The centre operates in partnership with Baleines Rand'eau, focusing on high-quality instruction and environmental stewardship. Through their involvement with the Nosy Be Ocean collective, they ensure that all activities are conducted with a deep respect for the local marine ecosystem.

The centre is led by Guillaume, a co-founder and instructor holding both an SSI instructor qualification and a professional BPJEPS diploma in freediving. His expertise allows for a high level of technical instruction tailored to the specific needs of breath-hold divers.

Instruction is delivered in French, and the centre maintains a strict ratio of a maximum of four divers per guide. This ensures that even during discovery sessions or intensive training, you receive the individual attention necessary for safe and effective progression.

Freedive Nosy Be offers a complete progression of SSI freediving courses. Beginners can start with the SSI Basic Freediver course, which provides the foundation for moving into the SSI Freediver certification.

For more experienced practitioners, the centre provides SSI Advanced Freediver training and SSI Training Tables. They also offer bespoke training programmes and specialised stages that combine freediving with marine science.

The centre provides full kit hire for those not travelling with their own equipment. This includes all the essentials required for a successful session in the water.

For those looking to train specifically in breath-hold disciplines, the centre offers specialised training sessions including cable work and coaching to help refine your technique.
