North Island

North Island is a private island sanctuary situated in the northern part of the Seychelles archipelago. Established in 1997, the island is a granite island destination that prioritises a deep connection with the surrounding natural environment.

The diving here is defined by a commitment to conservation, particularly through the 'Noah's Ark' programme. This initiative focuses on reforestation and the repopulation of endemic bird species, as well as the protection and reintroduction of marine and terrestrial turtles.

The marine life is headlined by a significant presence of sea turtles, including Green sea turtles (Cheloniidae) and Hawksbill turtles (Cheloniidae). You may also encounter Aldabra giant tortoises in the terrestrial parts of the island's conservation programme.

In the water, look out for various pelagic species and reef inhabitants. You can expect to see reef sharks (Carcharhinus), great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), trevally, and snapper (Lutjanus). Larger fish such as tuna (Thunnus) and various rays (Batoidea) are also part of the local ecosystem.

The reef is home to a diverse array of reef fish, providing constant movement and colour throughout your dives.
