Poseidon Dive Centre

Located in Paralimni, Poseidon Dive Centre has been a staple of the Cypriot diving community for over two decades. The centre is ideally positioned to access the diverse marine environments of the Protaras and Ayia Napa coastline, ranging from shallow sandy plateaus to significant deep-water wrecks.

As an affiliate of both PADI and SSI, the centre caters to a wide spectrum of divers. You can find everything from introductory sessions for those new to the water to advanced technical training for experienced divers looking to specialise in wreck or deep diving.

The course catalogue is extensive, covering the full progression of scuba diving. You can begin with Discover Scuba Diving or the Bubble Maker programme and work your way through PADI and SSI certifications including Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Divemaster.

Speciality training is a core part of the centre's offering. Divers can enrol in courses such as PADI Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Night Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy. For those looking to advance their technical knowledge, Enriched Air Nitrox and Search & Recovery courses are also available.

The local waters are home to a diverse array of fish species. You will regularly encounter damselfish, trumpetfish, and various species of seabream. Larger predators such as barracuda, jacks, and groupers are often seen patrolling the deeper structures and wrecks.

Sea turtles are a frequent sight across many of the local sites, often found cruising near the reef flats or sandy bottoms. You may also spot lionfish, moray eels, and various species of wrasse darting amongst the rocks.

For those interested in macro life, the seabed and crevices offer plenty to see. Keep an eye out for octopus, squid, and nudibranchs, as well as smaller residents like sea urchins and various crustaceans.

The marine landscape is enriched by healthy seagrass meadows and rocky outcrops that provide shelter for a wide variety of life, from small squirrelfish to larger rays.

The diving season is most favourable from mid-April to the beginning of November. During this period, the sea conditions are generally very calm, making for easy entries and comfortable surface intervals.

Visibility is a highlight of the area, frequently reaching 21 metres or more at many of the key sites, providing excellent sightlines for both wreck and reef exploration.
