Dive Cypria

Founded by Burcu Mahmutoglu, the first Turkish Cypriot woman to achieve PADI Instructor status, the centre maintains a human-centred approach to instruction. The team is composed of experienced professionals who prioritise safety and confidence-building in every session.

The centre is known for its inclusive ethos, actively welcoming the LGBTQ+ community, women, and divers with specific accessibility needs. This commitment to diversity is central to their 'Dive Without Borders' philosophy.

Instruction is delivered in English, focusing on small group sizes to ensure personalised attention. This approach is particularly evident in their specialised 'women-only' diving courses and their comprehensive PADI training programmes.

Dive Cypria offers the complete spectrum of PADI training. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or progress through the Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver certifications. For those looking to advance their skills, the centre provides Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy courses.

Specialised training is also available for divers looking to refine specific skills, such as the Underwater Navigator or Wreck Diver courses. A PADI Refresher Program is also available for divers returning to the water after a break.

The local waters are home to a diverse array of marine life, including sea turtles and various species of reef fish. You can often encounter schools of fish, including jacks (Carangidae) and seabream (Sparidae), moving across the reef.

Macro life enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, such as the Mediterranean rainbow wrasse (Coris julis), various nudibranchs, and the Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda). Look closely among the crevices to find the Octopus (Octopus vulgaris) or different species of wrasses (Labridae).

Predators and larger species also frequent the area, with sightings of Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), Tuna (Thunnus), and Amberjack (Seriola). You may also spot the Eagle ray (Aetobatus) or different types of squid and cuttlefish (Sepiidae) patrolling the water column.
