SCUBA Dive Cyprus is situated in Protaras, serving as a gateway to the diverse underwater topography of the eastern Mediterranean. The centre is positioned on Pernera Avenue, making it easily accessible for those staying in the nearby coastal areas.

The region offers a varied range of diving, from easy shore entries on the reef flat to deep wreck penetrations and complex cave systems. Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or want to explore the technical depths of a major shipwreck, the local sites provide a comprehensive training ground.

The centre is led by Athanasios Archontides, an instructor with 30 years of experience and a background as a marine biologist. This dual expertise brings a strong emphasis on marine ecology to every dive, helping you understand the ecosystems you are exploring.

Affiliated with SSI, CMAS, and FFESSM, the centre delivers training that meets international standards. The team is equipped to handle a wide spectrum of divers, from children in the SSI Explorers programme to professional candidates working towards their Divemaster or Assistant Instructor qualifications.

A full range of training is available through SSI and other recognised bodies. Beginners can start with Try Scuba or the Basic Diver course, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver.

For more experienced divers, the centre offers several specialties including Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, Night & Limited Visibility, and Navigation. Professional development paths are also fully supported, covering Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Instructor levels. Non-diving educational courses such as Marine Ecology, Computer, and the Science of Diving are also offered.

The centre maintains a rigorous maintenance schedule, with all equipment tested, inspected, and certified annually by authorised international bodies. All kit is also checked and serviced after every single dive.

For those travelling light, equipment storage is available on-site. Nitrox is available for use, with fills provided for a small supplement per cylinder.

The local waters are home to a high density of Mediterranean reef fish. You will regularly encounter schools of saddle bream, blue-spotted cornetfish, damselfish (Pomacentridae), and various species of wrasse (Labridae). Larger predators such as Jacks (Carangidae), Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), and Groupers (Epinephelus) are also frequently sighted around the wrecks and rocky outcrops.

For those interested in macro life, the area offers plenty of interest. Look closely for Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), and various species of scorpionfish. You may also find stingrays and different types of squid near the sandy patches and reef edges.

The seabed and rock formations provide a home for many interesting invertebrates, including sea squirts, tube worms, and various sponges. Sea turtles are a common sight throughout the region, adding to the biodiversity of the Mediterranean habitats.

The area offers a variety of entry methods, ranging from easy shore entries at Green Bay and Pernera House Bay to sites requiring ladders or a short swim after a large step entry, such as the Canyon at Cape Greco.
