Sirens Dive Centre

Located in the Protaras area, Sirens Dive Centre has been a fixture of the local diving community since 2020. The centre serves as a gateway to the diverse underwater landscapes of Cyprus, ranging from shallow, sandy bays to deep, dramatic wrecks and cave systems.

Whether you are looking for your first experience in the water or seeking to progress through technical diving stages, the centre is positioned to handle a wide spectrum of requirements. They offer a structured environment for both recreational exploration and professional development.

The team consists of 5 instructors who are experienced in working with all types of divers. They have a particular focus on building confidence in nervous swimmers or those new to the water, ensuring that training is never rushed.

For younger divers, the centre runs programmes for children starting from 8 years of age. The staff is multilingual, with English, German, and Danish spoken on-site to assist international divers.

As a professional DAN partner, the centre maintains high safety standards and holds full liability insurance. They also provide a 10% discount for diving professionals, including Divemasters and instructors.

The training catalogue is extensive, beginning with PADI Bubblemaker and Scuba Diver courses for beginners. From there, divers can progress through the standard PADI progression including Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Rescue Diver.

For those looking to move into professional waters, the centre offers the Divemaster course. They also provide specialised training such as Enriched Air Nitrox, Deep Diver, Night Diver, Wreck Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy.

Technical divers can find a pathway through the TecRec curriculum, including Discover Tec, Tec 40, Tec 45, and Tec 50. Other specialised certifications available include Digital Underwater Photographer, Boat Diver, and Project AWARE specialties.

The centre provides full equipment hire for divers who do not wish to bring their own kit. They utilise high-quality brands, specifically Aqualung and Apex, ensuring that regulators, BCDs, and other essential components are well-maintained.

Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time. For those interested in technical diving, the centre is a TecRec partner, supporting divers moving into more advanced gas configurations.

The marine life in the area is diverse, with many species found around the rocky reefs and artificial structures. You will regularly encounter schools of Mediterranean rainbow wrasse (Coris julis), damselfish (Chromis chromis), and various types of seabream (Sparidae). Larger pelagics such as Amberjack (Seriola), Jack (Carangidae), and Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) are also seen by divers.

On the sandy bottoms and near the reefs, look for sea turtles, Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus), and octopus (Octopus vulgaris). You might also spot Mediterranean pufferfish, scorpionfish, and various species of wrasse (Labridae) hiding in the crevices.

For macro enthusiasts, the area offers plenty of interest. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and various species of squid (Sepioteuthis sepioidea) and cuttlefish (Sepiidae). Small crustaceans, including shrimps and crabs, are also common throughout the various habitats.

The local dive sites offer a variety of environments, from shallow, sheltered bays like Green Bay to more exposed cliff dives like Cyclops. While many sites are accessible from the beach, some require a boat trip to reach the deeper wrecks or more remote reefs.
