For a larger group, the Classic Quadruple Room with Sea View is the practical option, with a king-size bed and two single beds rather than everyone drawing lots for the sofa. Family rooms are available, and children of any age are welcome, although cots and extra beds are not available, so the existing sleeping arrangement matters.

Air conditioning is useful when the island has done its best to warm you through, while the refrigerator gives you somewhere to keep water cold for the return to the room. The tile or marble flooring is easy to live with after a sandy beach visit, and the dressing room in some rooms gives wet towels and holiday clothes a better chance of staying in separate camps.

Delfini Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on the terrace, with traditional Greek cooking and a view over the sea. This is the useful sort of arrangement when you return hungry and do not fancy putting on proper shoes to go elsewhere. Breakfast is served as a buffet, from 07:30 to 10:00.

The board option is half-board, so your booking can be organised around two meals a day rather than leaving every decision until the moment your appetite arrives. The restaurant also works with Greek, local and international dishes, with vegetarian and gluten-free choices listed among the available options.

There is one named bar: the Pool Bar, set beside the main outdoor pool. It focuses on cocktails and refreshing drinks, which covers both the celebratory version of the afternoon and the more common need for something cold in a glass.

The main outdoor pool is the obvious place to settle when the sea is being left alone for a while. It has an integrated bar, so you can move from a few lengths to a drink without turning the afternoon into an expedition. Sun loungers and parasols are also available by the beach, giving you a second place to stop moving.

The water-based options go beyond swimming: snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, boat excursions and equipment hire are available. These suit the sort of day when you want to stay active but do not want another full production after diving. The hotel can also arrange excursions by boat to neighbouring islands and visits to traditional villages, giving a couple or a small group something more substantial than another hour of scrolling in the shade.

Families have access to babysitting and a children’s menu, while the free private parking nearby helps if you are exploring the island by car. There is also a minimarket on site, luggage storage and a concierge service, all small details that become useful when the timetable is built around boats, swims and meals rather than office hours.

A private airport shuttle is available on request, and car hire can be arranged through the hotel. Santorini International Airport is about 31 miles away by the stated hotel distance; the island transfer is part of the journey, so check the connection that suits your arrival rather than treating the airport distance like a normal road transfer.

Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is until 11:00. Luggage storage is available, which is handy when your arrival or departure does not line up neatly with those times. Early check-in and late check-out can be requested.
